CTC205 – Case a birthday card and give a Christmas Twist

ctc_header

Well I have survived my first week back at work and sadly life is getting back to normal.  But I did put my Christmas tree up this week!!  Actually I should say trees as I have 2.  I need one for just my travelling Christmas ornaments!

This is the main tree!

This week at CTC we are doing something a little different and casing a birthday card and giving it a Christmas Twist.

Sometimes I forget that you can use the Catalogues to case layouts as well as copying cards.  I’ve cased a birthday card from page 77 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.

I decided to use the Snowfall thinlits and the Snow is Glistening stamp set which are only available this month.  The stamp set includes two stamps which were perfect for recreating the look of the cut outs on the original card.  For my centre piece, I used some retired Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for lots of sparkle.  It needed something to make it stand out, so I added a Pacific Point scallop circle behind it.

I put a piece of Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon behind the snow flake.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Alpine Adventure stamp set and punched it using the 1″ circle punch.

The photo doesn’t do it justice as it’s quite sparkly in real life!

The Snowflake Showcase which includes the Snow is Glistening Stamp Set, the Happiness Surrounds Stamp Set, the Snowfall Thinlits and the cute Snowflake trinkets is still available until 30 November so click here to pick yours up from my online store.

Don’t forget the Online Extravangza is still on!  Make sure you don’t miss out.  Check it out here.

Next up is my lovely friend, Rose.

14 August 2012 – July Stamp Club

Hi there,

It’s starting to get a bit warmer during the day now although it is a bit chilly at night time.  Here’s the cards that we made at July Stamp Club (yes I know I’m late posting!!)  I was inspired by swaps that I had received at Convention for all these cards.  The first one is from fellow Demonstrator, Cathy Clark.

Here is her card using the Spirelli technique.

And here is my card.  Yes, it’s time for a Christmas Card!!

Stamps:  Merry & Type

Paper:  Letters to Santa DSP, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive markers

Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants die, Boho Blossoms punch, White baker’s twine, Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine, Rhinestone.

The next card was inspired by Bronwen Cornish. I did virtually the same card that she did.  We made ours in Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.  You can’t really tell from the photo but we put a multipurpose adhesive sheet over the centre panel and put dazzling diamonds over the top.  We were all a bit sparkly going home!!

Stamps:  It’s Your Birthday, Mixed Bunch

Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White

Ink:  Tempting Turquoise

Accessories:  Blossom punch, Multi-purpose adhesive sheets, 1″ circle punch, dazzling diamonds.

The last card was by Heather Moekotte which I just love!  I really love the Tea Shoppe stamp set. And guess what, it’s in the new Catalogue!!!!  woo hoo!!!

Stamps:  Tea Shoppe

Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Early Espresso, Whisper White

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler marker, Old Olive, Early Espresso

Accessories:  Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Labels collection framelits, Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon, crochet trim, sponge.

26 September 2011 – Class Cards

Hi everyone,

Isn’t spring a lovely time of year!!  Not too hot, not too cold, just right!!

Here are a couple of cards that we did at my recent stamp club.  The girls enjoyed making them!!  The first is a petal card, thanks to a great tutorial on Splitcoaststampers by Beate Johns (click here for the link).  I felt it wasn’t too hard to make and looks pretty good, if I do say so myself!!  I love this paper too!! (and the Perfect Pennants die!!)

Here’s a picture of it open.

Stamp sets:  Happiest Birthday Wishes

Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder

Paper:  Flirtatious Specialty DSP, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight

Accessories:  Circle Scissor Plus, Big Shot, Scallop Circle Die,Perfect Pennants Die, 1 3/4″ scallop circle punch, 1″ circle punch, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled ribbon

The other card that we made used my other favourite new paper, Mocha Morning Specialty.  I love the velvet feel to a couple of the pages!!

I did case this card but I can’t find where from, but thank you!!

I used markers to ink the stamp and I think it came out really well.  I love this technique!!
