Colour Inkspiration 9

It’s amazing how quickly each Colour Inkspiration challenge comes around!!

This next challenge is gorgeous!!  Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party.

I wanted to play with the new stamp set that I received when I attended the recent Centrestage leadership event at Onstage in Sydney.  The Crafting Forever stamp set is the new Angel Policy stamp set but it’s perfect for crafters!!

I added in crumb cake as paint brushes and wooden pins need to be brownish and not red or blue!  I did a practice stamp on a piece of paper before committing to cardstock and I was happy with the layout.  I cut out one of the pins and popped it onto a dimensional for a bit of extra height.

I usually layer up my sentiments but I decided to stick with a whisper white circle to keep the focus on the brushes.

You don’t have to wait too much longer to get your hands on this stamp set.  It will be available from June 1 which is only 22 sleeps away!!

Next up on the hop is the gorgeous Nicole!!

Don’t forget that you can join in with the challenge at our Facebook group.

CTC125 – Favourite Big Shot Project

I can’t believe how fast this year is flying past!  We already have the retirement list out and, as demonstrators, we have already seen the next annual catalogue!

However, we are still enjoying the Occasions catalogue for another few more weeks yet! This week, we are casing our favourite big shot projects from the 2017 Occasions catalogue.

When I first saw the catalogue, I loved the Birthday Blast stamp set and the matching Star Blast edgelits. I was so excited when I won the stamp set at Prize Patrol at Onstage in November.  But I haven’t used it as much as I thought I would.  Unfortunately, this set is retiring at the end of May so make sure you grab yours soon.

I have cased both of the cards on page 11 of the catalogue.  I kept the same layout but I used some of the outgoing In-Colours.

I used Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron for the top card.  To jazz it up, I coloured the top star burst with Clear Wink of Stella.

For the next card, I did two versions, one with a silver doily and the other gold.  I can’t decide which one I like the best!  I used Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron for both cards.  Both cards were really easy to put together quickly.  Oh and if you love sequins, all colours are retiring so make sure you grab them soon.  But don’t fret, there’s something super cute to replace them!!

Next up is my lovely friend, Tricia.

Don’t forget that you can also join in with our weekly challenge on our Facebook Group.  Make sure you come and check it out!!

Stampin’ Up! Product List

25 February 2014 – Is it a box or is it a card?

Now that is the question!! I’ve seen lots of Card in a Boxes on Pinterest and Facebook and it was time I jumped on the band wagon!!

I found a great tutorial by Tanya Bell, check out her blog here, and I was on my way. Once you get the cutting and scoring done, it’s up to you how you decorate it.

I love the Sale-a-bration paper, Sweet Sorbet (well all of it except the black print, yucko!!) so it was perfect for this card. I also used the matching SAB stamp set, Petal Parade.

We made this at Stamp club this weekend and the ladies loved it, except for cutting out the petals!! Not my favourite part, either!! Especially when I made up the extras and had to cut out 12 petals!!

11 February 2013 – I’m on the banner wagon!

I’ve noticed whilst surfing Pinterest that Banners are becoming quite popular. I have loved them all and wanted to make one.

As you may have noticed, I love my Big Shot!! I’ve used so many dies!! Firstly, I started with Scallop Square Clear Bigz die. I love the fact that you can cut 6 pieces of cardstock in one go! I then used the Rosette XL Bigz die to cut out strips from the lovely new Tea for Two Designer Series Paper to make the rosettes. I used two strips per square. These are so easy to make using my trusty hot glue gun.

I then used the 2 3/8″ Scallop circle punch in So Saffron and then layered with the Circle 2# Original die cut from more of the Tea for Two DSP. I used the Naturals White card stock as the base circle for the letters.

This is the first time that I’ve used my new Typeset Alphabet Bigz die. Using the multipurpose adhesive sheets makes it so easy to attach the letters. I just had to think about which way the letters needed to be cut so that they weren’t backwards!!

I added the Tea Time Trinkets which are very cute!

I hope you like it! I’ve hung it in my craft room above the window that I sit in front of.

27 August 2012 – Sneak Peak 1

Hi all,

I had my catalogue launch on Saturday for the new Stampin’ Up! 2012 – 2013 Catalogue this weekend and it was a great success!!  The girls had a great time and everyone walked away with a prize!  They also got a copy of the new Catalogue and the Seasonal Catalogue.  Yes, there are two catalogues coming out at once!!  So exciting!!!  The Seasonal catty is to die for.  So many amazing stamps and accessories.  Fortunately it goes until the end of January, so I should hopefully be able to get it all!! (But don’t tell my husband!)

This week, I am going to share with you a few of the cards that I made to display at the launch and also what we made.

Here are a couple made with Betsy’s Blossom Stamp set.  It is a cute set with a little bird just asking to be cut out.  This first card was cased here, from Ladybug Designs.  I’ve changed it to the new In-colour, Midnight Muse.  I love the new Bitty Banners Framelits as I am hopeless at cutting even ends on a banner.  I get one end just nice and the other is not.

Stamps:  Betsy’s Blossom, Loving Thoughts

Ink:  Midnight Muse, Wild Wasabi

Paper:  Midnight Muse, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White

Accessories:  Big Shot, Stripes Embossing folder, Adorning Accents Edgelit, Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners framelits, Wild Wasabi stitched grosgrain ribbon,  2 3/8″ scallop circle punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch, rhinestone.

I found the next card on Pinterest here.  There are so many lovely ideas there.  You can spend more time just looking than actually making!!  This card uses the new Oval Accent Bigz die which is just lovely.  I love all the new dies that are coming out!!

Stamp Sets:  Betsy’s Blossoms, Kindness Matters

Ink:  Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Early Espresso

Paper:  Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White

Accessories:  Big Shot, Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die, Bitty Banners framelit, Square Lattice embossing folder, Daffodil Delight stitched grosgrain ribbon.

Check back tomorrow for more sneak peaks!!

19 March 2012 – Journal

Hi everyone!!

I didn’t realise it had been so long since I last posted here.  I’ve been meaning to but I haven’t made much new stuff lately.

This weekend I went to the Hillsong Colour Conference in Sydney with my sister and friends.  We had a great time and I learnt a lot from the word of God with inspring speakers Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer.  I made all the girls a journal so that they could take notes during the sessions.

I used a journal from a $2 shop and covered them with the Berry Blossoms DSP.  I love the glimmer paper and the Perfect Pennants die, so I had to combine the two!!

Here’s a close up of the lower portion.

Stamp Set:  Broadsheet Alphabet

Ink:  Calypso Coral

Paper:  Berry Blossoms DSP, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade

Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die, Silver glimmer paper, 1 3/4″  circle punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, scallop edge border punch

24 November 2011 – Birthday Surprise!!!

It’s so nice to hear rain on the roof today, given how hot it’s been over the last week or so.

Last weekend was Mum’s 60th birthday and did we plan a surprise for her!!!  She didn’t want a surprise party so we decided to give her and Dad a weekend away at Lennox Head.  But that wasn’t the main surprise…. we all came too (me and my husband and my sister and her family)!!!  and so did Mum’s best friend, Pauline and her hubby Eric.

We let Mum know that we were giving her the weekend away a couple of weeks before, so that she could look forward to it and know that we hadn’t completely forgotten her birthday.  Dad was in on the plan and he knew that we were all coming.  He had to have her at the restaurant at 6.30pm on the dot and he did!!

She was sooo surprised!!!  She had no clue that we were going to be there!!  I had tricked her and called in the morning to wish her a good trip and said that I would call on Saturday which was the actual day.  I also had a big bunch of flowers delivered with a message saying that we couldn’t be there.

We had a lovely time away as a family and the beach was great!!  Will definitely have to go back there!!

Mum, Dad, my sister, Sue and I.

I gave Mum a Big Shot and a few embossing folders and dies for her birthday, which is very exciting!!

I made a telescoping card for her birthday.  I used a template from Julie Davison, who is a US Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.
