Welcome to a fun week at Caseing the Catty. This week, we are casing a layout from page 151.
So there are five projects on this page to choose from. I went with the card on the top right with the horse on it.
This is such a versatile layout. I’m on a Bird Ballad DSP roll at the moment and so I went with one piece on the left and then stamped the flowers and leaves on the right. I added a piece of linen ribbon and tied a bow with the Mossy Meadow linen thread which are both from the Magnolia Lane ribbon combo pack.
I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party and punched it out using the Story Label punch.
I was on a roll with this layout so I made another one with the Magnolia Lane DSP and the Magnolia Blooms stamp set from the Experience Creativity brochure. I used the Timeless Label punch for this one.
Next up is the lovely Judy. I can’t wait to see her stunning creation.
Come and share your creation with us over on at our Facebook group.
Welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty. It’s a wonderful rainy day today, just perfect for crafting!! Who am I kidding, any weather is good for crafting!!
This week, we are casing the Love, Thanks & Support section, pages 72-97 of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.
There’s lots of choose from! I didn’t get too far in and went with a card on page 79.
This layout is very easy to duplicate. I decided to use the Bird Ballad DSP instead of a stamped image as the birds on the paper are just too cute. (And I didn’t want to do any fussy cutting either!). I layered the dsp with Pool Party cardstock. I cut a frame using the Layering Squares dies in Daffodil Delight cardstock. I used the Foam Adhesive Strips to lift up the frame.
I cut a strip of vellum cardstock and used the Triple Banner punch to create a banner. I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay. The sentiment is from the Incredible Like You stamp set, which I discovered has retired after I had written my post!
I added a bow using the Scalloped Lace Trim which is just so pretty.
Next up is the lovely Tina. I can’t wait to see what she has created.
We would love to see your creation from this section. Just add it over on our Facebook page.
I’m excited to back with Colour Inkspiration Challenges this week!
We have such a lovely, bright combo to share with you. Lovely Lipstick, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green.
To create my cards for CI challenges, I always start by getting out the cardstock in the challenge colours. I then browse through my stamp sets to see what inspires me. I keep my stamp sets in alphabetical order and as you will be able to tell, I didn’t get very far this time!! I went with Accented Blooms as I love colouring the flowers.
I coloured the greenery using a blender pen and Granny Apple Green ink. I then coloured the flowers using the Lovely Lipstick and Daffodil Delight blends. I didn’t actually blend the colours but used the light and dark pens to create different coloured flowers.
To add a bit of texture, I used the Subtle embossing folder on the Daffodil Delight layer. I also tied a knot in a piece of Granny Apple Green textured weave ribbon across the bottom of the card.
Next up is the lovely Jackie.
We can’t wait to see what you create using these colours, so please add your creation to our Facebook group.
Welcome to another exciting week at Caseing the Catty. We are casing the How Sweet it is section, pages 14-23 of the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.
I really love the big colouring stamp sets that SU have been bringing out in the last couple of catalogues, like the Birthday Sentiments set on page 19. I have case the colours from the card on page 19 and the layout from the small card on page 18.
I stamped the main image in Merry Merlot and then coloured the flowers using blender pens in Petal Pink, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron.
Instead of ribbon, I used a piece of Floral Romance Specialty DSP behind the image. I stamped the Happy from the Birthday Statements stamp set in Petal Pink and punched out with the Classic Label punch.
What a crazy week it has been weather wise in Australia! From flooding up the top to fires down the bottom and extreme heat in between! I hope you have been able to keep safe.
This week at CTC we are back casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue.
As you may know, all the items in the Sale-a-bration catalogue are free!! YAY!! You can select from these items when you spend $90 or more in my online store (here) or buy contacting me directly to place your order.
I decided to case the card from page 10 which features the By the Bay stamp set. This type of set is not really my style but I liked the layout of this card with the frames.
I think the stitched rectangle framelits are quickly becoming my favourites! I cut out a frame using the Wood Textures DSP (I’ll be sad when it retires as it’s so handy) and a piece of whisper white. I sponged it with a sponge brayer in Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue.
As a cat lover, I wanted to use the new Nine Lives stamp set and the matching Cat punch. And it’s my 18th wedding anniversary today, so it’s the card for my husband. We have two spoilt kitties, Shadow (who is black) and Jaster (my grey boy). I had a few goes at stamping and colouring a black cat but I settled with using the black blends. It’s not just hard to photograph a black cat, but it’s hard to colour one as well!
I stamped the grey kitty in Gray Granite and coloured gently with my aqua painter. I also stamped some blades of grass from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.
I then created a little banner for the sentiment which is also from the Nine Lives stamp set.
Next up is fellow kitty lover, Peta.
We would love to see what inspires you from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Share your creations with us at our Facebook group.
If you love the Sale-a-bration goodies, keep your eye out as there are some new products coming out mid February!!
Are you as excited as me? The 2019 Occasions Catalogue starts today!!!
Oh and Happy New Year everyone!! It seems like 2018 went past so fast!! Do I really have to go back to work on Monday?
At least having the 2019 Occasions Catalogue to drool over will make it a bit better. And of course, a new year means that it’s also Sale-a-bration time! Every year, the goodies offered by Stampin’ Up! for free get better and better. There’s stamps, paper, framelits, wooden embellishments, foil paper and more!!
For those who don’t know, Sale-a-bration runs from 3 January to 31 March and for every $90 you spend with me, you will be able to choose a free product from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.
Here’s a card that I made using the free Botanical Butterfly DSP.
All I’ve done is cut out the butterflies from the DSP and created the banner for the sentiment using the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. (I actually cased this card from the Stampin’ Success magazine that all Stampin’ Up! demonstrators receive) #demoperks
So you can earn free products by:

Welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty. I seem to have a million things to get done before Christmas and not enough time to do it!! Work just gets in the way, how rude!!
I’ve been preparing for my Christmas Class next weekend but I managed to squeeze in a card for CTC. Our challenge this week is to Case Anything but a Card from either catalogue. I decided to case the candle cover on page 28 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue which is part of the Joyous Noel suite.
I love the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP, although when I went to select my cardstock, I haven’t used much of it!! I decided to use one of the dsp as the background and the Tranquil Tide and Copper paper for the wreath. I drew a circle lightly on the dsp (I used one of my pots of embossing paste) to give me a guide for attaching the sprigs. Otherwise you know it’s going to be a weird shaped circle!!
I punched out lots of sprigs using the Sprig punch and started attaching them using glue dots. I would recommend attaching in an anti-clock wise direction otherwise the sprigs don’t spring! I cut out the Merry from the Merry Christmas Thinlits in Cherry Cobbler and painted it with Wink of Stella. (I was going to use the Copper shimmer paint but apparently I forgot to buy it on my last order!)
I also stamped the sentiment from the Merry Christmas to All set and cut it out using a banner from the retired Large Numbers framelits. The gorgeous bow is made using the Merry Merlot and Copper reversible ribbon.
When it came to assembly of the wreath, you need a lot more sprigs that you think you will!!
I’m really happy with how this card turned out. Let’s see what Peta has created for us and if Marvi has been a good boy this week!!
Come and share your project with us at our Facebook group.
