I decided to go with Project Life as I haven’t done much scrapbooking lately.  I really love Project Life as it’s quick and easy to do yet looks great!  I love the simplicity and ease of it.  Tuck your photos into a pocket, write on a few cards, add some accessories and it’s all done!!

I am currently doing an online photography course at Click Love Grow, and this week it was all about learning shutter speed.  We have a weekly challenge to complete and share with the group, so our homework this week was to take a photo of water in a glass and dropping something into it and taking pictures of the splash.  This was a lot of fun and I got so many amazing pictures that it was hard to decide which one to share!!  I decided that this would be the focus of my Project Life pages.

As you can see, I didn’t really add much to it!!  I used the Moments Like These Project Life Kit and the matching accessory pack.  I also used the retiring Alphabet rotary stamp.

I really need to do more of this, it’s so nice getting your photos into albums!!

So it’s back to the start of the hop with Julia.

CTC52- Project Life – December Daily

At CASEing the Catty this week, we are casing the Project Life section of the catalogue.

CTC52 - PL

If you haven’t heard of Project Life before, it is a simple system for organising your photos into an album. All you need to start is an album in the size and design you like, photo pocket pages, a card collection and a pen! You can also embellish your pages with an accessory pack and it wouldn’t be Stampin’ Up! without a matching stamp set!!

I have decided to do a December Daily album for Christmas this year. I did it last year and it was great fun taking photos and getting them into an album. It does take some planning, especially if you want to make sure you take a photo a day but worth it in the end.

There are two lovely card collections and matching accessory packs in the 2015 Holiday catalogue, Hello December 2015 and Seasonal Snapshot 2015. I’ve purchased the Hello December collection, accessory pack and the Project Life Hello December 2015 stamp set as I wanted to do an album solely dedicated to Christmas. By the way, you can purchase all three items in a bundle and save 15%.

This week, I’m not actually caseing a project from the catalogue. Obviously it’s not Christmas yet and I don’t have any photos to put in a layout, so I’ve decided to show you how I have decorated the front of the Kraft 6″ x 8″ Project Life Album.

I started off by using the Craft Whisper White ink pad around the edges to make a snowy look. I then stamped a few of the snowflakes from the Project Life Hello December 2015 stamp sets around.

I then decided to use one of the the 4 specialty gold glitter cards which comes in the accessory pack as my title. Isn’t it lovely!! It’s very sparkly in real life. I used a sheet of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and I “tore” it!!! Scary, I know!! I then literally dropped the sequins (also from the accessory pack) and attached them with a glue dot where they landed. I also added a couple of stars.

I’m quite happy with the result and can’t wait to see what how it ends up this year. I’ll keep you posted!!

To continue hopping, have a look at the lovely project Julia has made.

CTC39 – Project Life

One of my favourite things in the current catalogue is Project Life!! I’m so glad that Stampin’ Up! have partnered with Project Life to bring exclusive designs in our fabulous colour collections for us to use. I love how the cards and accessories match our ink pads, ribbons and papers, so that we can add to and embellish our pages as much as we like!!

This week at CTC, we are case-ing the Project Life section of the catalogue. You may have come from the gorgeous Emma, or be starting your hop here. Either way, enjoy all the fabulous projects that we have to share using the Project Life kits.

I decided that I would attempt to make cards using the pages from the catalogue as inspiration. I love the Moments Like These card collection and Accessory Pack. There’s GOLD in it!!! For my first card, I decided to case the layout on Page 51.

p51

I used one of the specialty gold cards from the Accessory pack as my feature and added a gold mat around it to make it “pop” a bit more. Isn’t the little banner cute. They come from one of the sticker sheets in the Accessory Pack. I used the Moment Like These stamp set and added the sentiment from And Many More which I just got today (BTW, this is a great set!! Loads of sentiments!!) I cut the heart from the Circle Card thinlits as I had already used the sticker from the pack.

For my second card, I decided to case the layout of the Summer card on page 50.

p50

I used the long stamp from the Work of Art stamp set and stamp the darkest colour first from my new favourite colour, Watermelon Wonder. Then I stamped off once, twice and even three times, to get the lighter colours. Doesn’t it look great!!

Keeping in with the gold theme, I cut out a Hello from the Hello You thinlits and attached it using my two way glue pen. Easy Peasy!!

I hope you have enjoyed my cards today. The next stop on the hop is back to the CTC blog.

Project Life, I love it!!

I haven’t had much opportunity to do any Project Life lately, but I’m on a week’s holiday from work and I’ve had my youngest niece come for a visit. She is about to turn 13, so we had a trip to the movies and SeaWorld.

I decided that we would spend her last day doing some craft. Leah has grown up with Grandma and I doing lots of craft with her and her sister, so she’s an experienced crafter!! I took photos during her visit and printed them out on my PictureMate printer (which I love!!) She wanted to use other photos that she had on her phone already, so we printed them out as well.

We picked a page layout each and off we went. Leah decided to round her corners which she thought was really cool. We used the Moments like these Project Life kit and the co-ordinating accessories. Have you seen the cute little paperclips in that kit, too cute!!!!
