CTC07 – I can make my own signs!!

I just love being able to make my own Home Décor!! and using My Digital Studio, I can do it in a snap!!

This week at CTC, we are playing with the Home Décor section of the catty. I decided to case page 100 of the AU/NZ catalogue.
page 100

Well, it’s sort of a case. I used the Grateful Hearts framables download, changed the background paper to Rose Red Brocade and voila, all done!! Then I just saved it as a Jpeg file and had it printed through The Canvas Factory. As you may know, I recently re-did my craft room and painted my walls Rose Red so this matches nicely.

Here it is on the wall. Can you see my new ribbon storage? Thanks, Ikea!!

You can try MDS for free for 30 days. Just click on the link below and it will take you to my online store.

So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.

* Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
* Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
* Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country’s catalogue where you got your inspiration.
* SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

Hope you can join in!!

CTC 2 – Are you ready for a walk in the park?

Can you believe that it is Friday already and time for another Caseing The Catty challenge!!

I hope you enjoyed playing last week with Gifts and Packaging. This week we are casing the Memory Keeping section of the catalogue.

There are so many options for memory keeping in the latest catalogue: there’s traditional scrapbooking, Project Life, This and That albums, and digital scrapbooking with My Digital Studio.

This week I have decided to feature My Digital Studio and the digital kit, Walk in the Park II kit which is featured on page 41 of the Australian/New Zealand catalogue. For only $10.95, you get 1 journal template, 12 piece stamp brush set, 14 designer series paper and 40 embellishments.

I used nearly all the bits and pieces in the kit!! Love it when it all co-ordinates.

I had my youngest niece stay over for a birthday sleepover and I made her take some photos with me!!!

I hope you like it!!

You can download a 30 day trial of My Digital Studio, here or you can purchase the full version for only $24.95 here.

Make sure you head over to the Caseing the Catty Blog and check out what everyone else has done.

23 March 2014 – Springtime Hello? or is it Autumn??

Well, here in Queensland it’s supposed to be Autumn but the temperatures this week don’t seem like it!!

Have you noticed the Springtime Hello Simply Created Garland Kit in the Occasions Catalogue? It is great!! It includes all the accessories for making a cute garland, including 3 sheets of printed stickers, 3m of Natural Linen Thread, 5 mini clothespins and 5 natural designer buttons.

I wanted to make one similar to the one pictured in the catalogue, so I picked up a photo frame from the local cheap shop. To create the image on the chalkboard, I used My Digital Studio (MDS). Now I didn’t have any chalk board paint or even chalk to write on one, so I used the 12×12 DSP which comes in the My First Day download (here) as the background. I then used the Be Awesome today Easel Calendar Template (here) which I love as it has amazing stamps like this one that you can use to inspire. I then adjusted it to the size that I wanted and printed it out. How easy was that!! I love MDS!!

I then created the garland using the supplies in the kit. It took me about 5 minutes to make!! Doesn’t it look cute!!

So I had a lot of pieces left over and I was inspired by my up-up-line, Simone Bartrum to make some simple thank you cards. Check out Simone’s cards here. I ended up making 24 cards, which I used as thank you’s for my birthday, which was a little while ago.

I love the new Envelope PUnch Board for creating envelopes but did you realise that it has a corner rounder on it as well. So I used it to put a nice corner on my cards. Some of the cards needed a bit of bling (most cards do, I think!).

Let me know what you think.

Happy Stamping

16 February 2014 – I’m always up for a challenge!!

An MDS challenge that is!! I love doing sketch challenges and this week I’ve had a go at the MDS Monday challenge No. 53, which is focusing on using “scraps”. But it’s digital, I hear you say, there are no scraps!! Well, that’s true, but you can make some!!

Here’s the sketch.

And here’s my interpretation.

I love how I can whip up a page in an hour or so. I also love that if I don’t like a stamp or DSP, I can delete it or re-colour it, resize it or change it completely. The magic of digital!! Love it.

Supplies: Finest Simplicity frames, Staple and Stiching, Tres Chic stamp set, 1.25″ square punch, Decorative label punch, Hooray for Parties DSP

If you would like to try out My Digital Studio, you can download it for free by clicking on the button on the right hand side.

Happy (digital) stamping!!!
