Channelling my inner arty

I love joining in with Challenge blogs and this week at TGIF, they have set a technique challenge!! Watercolouring!!!

So, I have decided to find my inner “arty”. Apparently, she wasn’t hiding that far away!! I used the retired colour coach to come up with a nice combo of subtle colours, Soft Sky, Wisteria Wonder and Sahara Sand. I think they look very pretty together.

I then had a look at my stamps. I decided to use the large splat from the Perpetual birthday calendar set. I stamped it in the 3 colours on the watercolour paper and gave it a spritz of water to make the colours blend together. And because I’m impatient, I used my heat tool to make it dry quicker.

I knew I wanted to add a gold embossed sentiment and I couldn’t decide what would go. My fabulous friend, Emma, suggested that I use the flower from You’ve Got This, and I have to agree, that it looks pretty good!! I added some lace, a bow and stamped a small sentiment from Petite Pairs and punched it out with the oval punch.

When I came to photo the card, I realised that it’s hard to get a good picture of embossing. Let me just say in real life, it looks much better!!

I hope you like my card!! Please leave me a comment and let me know.

Happy Stamping

CTC04 – Can you believe it!!

Can you believe that we are up to challenge number 4 already!! Where does the time go!!

So, this week we are casing the Wedding section of the Catalogue. There are lots of yummy products to play with in this section. I decided to case the Congratulations gift box on page 67 of the AU/NZ catalogue.

ctc 04 original

But, I didn’t have any boxes!! Nooo!!!! How does that happen!!! So I thought I would try it as a card.

I have loved the Banner punch since it’s been available. It is just too cute!! I also used my new favourite DSP, Gold Soiree. I love shiny!!!

I wasn’t sure how to start and finish the baker’s twine so I decided on a little knot and then used a glue dot to hold it down. I also used the Bravo stamp set for the congratulations and got out my gold embossing powder for a bit more bling. It is meant to be a wedding card after all!!

Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think!!

So make sure you join in with the Challenge at

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.

* Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
* Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
* Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country’s catalogue where you got your inspiration.
* SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

Hope you can join it!!

6 February 2012 – Wedding Card

It’s been such a hot day today that I stayed in the air conditioning and worked on a couple of ideas for cards for my next stamp club in a weeks time.  I recently purchased the Medallion stamp set which I have seen used on so many lovely cards and thought it was about time that I inked it up.

I just love Splitcoaststampers for inspiration (click here).  I found this great card by cgpop and gave it a wedding twist, seeing as I’m not ready to start Christmas cards just yet.  I’ve done a bit of embossing in white for the medallion and then gold for the sentiment.

Here’s a close up .
