Well, I’ve finally done the swap over and put away my Holiday Catalogue products away and have put my new Occasions Catalogue goodies out so that I can play with them!!!
There are so many gorgeous new things to play with, that it’s hard to know where to start!!
I decided to play with the Global Design Project today. This week, the challenge is to case the designer, who is the talented Bibi Cameron from the UK.
I used the circle and the sentiment as the inspiration for my card. I just love the word thinlits and I don’t use them enough. I cut out the thanks from the Greetings thinlits in Silver glimmer paper.
One of my favourite stamp sets is Circle of Spring. I just love colouring the flowers with my blender pens. Makes me feel very arty! I stamped with basic black, then coloured in with Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder. I created my own background by using my aqua painter and putting a few drops of Mint Macaron ink in the lid of the ink pad and drew my lines across the thick Whisper White cardstock. I am just so arty today!! lol
I think I’m getting better with my Silver cord swirls now that I try to follow the curls of the cord. You’d think seeing as I have curly hair, that I would know to go with the curl not against it!!
I just love the new thick Watermelon Wonder Stitched Satin Ribbon. It’s so nice and thick and shiny. I cut a piece to make a banner across the card and then felt it need something more in the middle. I cut a long piece of ribbon and got out a needle and thread (shock, horror, I know!!) and gathered the bottom of the ribbon. A couple of knots and doesn’t it look great!!
I then put a bit of glue using the fine tip glue pen on the back of the thanks and placed it on the ribbon. To make it stick, I put a large block on top of it and left it for a few minutes until the glue had dried enough. It seems to be hanging on so far!!
Here’s a close up of the middle.
It’s always nice when a plan comes together!!
I can’t wait to share the 2016 Occasions Catalogue with you when it goes live on January 5, 2016. If you would like a copy of the catalogue, please contact me at email@example.com or 0408 193 792.
Stampin’ Up! Product List
At CASEing the Catty this week, we are caseing the Home for Christmas section of the catalogue from pages 8-21.
There are so many lovely stamp sets in the section, it was hard to choose which ones to use. I decided to use 2 sets which I haven’t inked up yet.
For my first card, I was inspired by the wreath on page 21. I love the new square pillow box thinlits but I wanted to do it as a card.
I just love the Wonderful Wreath framelits and I’m so glad that another co-ordinating stamp set is in this catalogue. Peaceful Wreath is a lovely set. It’s also the first time I’ve used the Woodland embossing folder. Isn’t it just devine! I think it looks amazing.
I coloured my wreath using a combination of markers and blender pens. I then added a few dots of the Cherry Cobbler dazzling details for a bit of sparkle. Once I was ready to assemble, I went with the gold glitter ribbon instead of the burlap. You can never have too much glitter.
Here’s a close up of the middle. I also did a spot of gold embossing on the bow.
For my second card, I was inspired by the card on page 20 using the Dove of Peace stamp set.
I wanted to try doing some splats on the background rather than embossing like the original. I think I’ve ended up with splodges but I’m happy with the result!! I used my aqua painter and Delightful Dijon as it was close to gold.
I seem to be doing a lot of fussy cutting lately even though it’s not my favourite thing to do. Some stamps just ask to be cut out and this is one of them!! Doesn’t the Dove just look lovely?
I hope you have enjoyed my projects this week. To continue hopping, just visit Judy to see what lovely creations she has made this week.

Stampin’ Up! Product List
Have you seen all the lovely kits at the start of the 2015 Holiday Catalogue? It’s hard to choose which one is the best!! I have got the Tag kit but I’m keeping it to use at an upcoming class, so I was a little stumped as to what to make this week for the CASEing the Catty Challenge.
I decided to do a version of the Shaker Cards featured on page 4.
This kit has includes die cut card fronts, envelopes, printed foil card bases, window sheets, gold foil starts, word stickers (in 3 languages), Christmas tree and circle stickers, baker’s twine, star sequins, red, green and gold sequins, dimensional adhesive strips, chunky clear glitter and dimensionals. Wow, that’s a lot!! You can also get the matching stamp set – To You & Yours too, and the coordinating ink pads, Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Memento Black.
I decided to use a note card and the only colour I could find in the cupboard was Crumb Cake. I then went with a piece of Typeset DSP to go underneath the cut out. I used the Perfect Pines and the Delicate Ornaments framelits to cut the inserts and then put a piece of window sheet over the hole. I then added dimensionals all around the inside of the cut out and added lots of confetti!! I cut out some garden green hearts using the Confetti Heart punch (as I don’t have the Confetti Star punch) and added lots of sequins from the Metalics sequin assortment.
I then carefully attached it to the base piece and added the word from the Wonderful Wreath framelits. I cut it out using the new precision plate, which worked like a dream, and the new Red foil sheets. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!!
I’d love if you could leave me a comment below.

Happy Stamping and Hopping!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
I have recently discovered a new challenge site, called Sweet Sunday Sketches. Every Sunday, they have a new sketch to try.
I was having a look for a new sketch yesterday and thought the latest sketch would do nicely. What do you think?
Cute, isn’t it? I thought I would try the Circle of Spring wreath as the circle on the card. I love this set!! It’s so lovely and easy to colour in.
I was once again inspired by the Pretty Petals DSP stack and went with Old Olive and Calypso Coral. I used my blender pens to colour it. I just got some new pens as mine were a little fluffy on the tip. Oh my, what a difference it makes!!
And have I mentioned that I love the Wonderful Wreath framelits and how they make cutting out an image like this so easy!!
I’d love to know what you think! Please leave me a comment below.
Stampin’ Up! Product List:
I think it’s the coldest day of Winter that we’ve had so far!! And it’s windy so that doesn’t help either. But today’s card certainly has a touch of spring in it.
One of the talented ladies in my team, Rose (check out her blog here) shared a cute card that she had entered into the latest TGIF challenge and it inspired me to give it a go as well.
So here is the sketch challenge.
I was getting ready for next week’s stamp club and I had out the Circle of Spring stamp set when I saw the challenge picture and I thought I could use the wreath as the focus of the card.
I’ve also been wanting to use the new Brick Wall embossing folder and thought it might make a nice background. I used my blender pens to colour in the flowers using Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron ink. I think I am slightly addicted to these colours!
Here is a close up of the wreath.
To add the sentiment I stamped only a portion of the stamp from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set as the whole saying didn’t fit into the space that I had. I then cut it out using the Bitty Banner framelits and cut off the points and attached it to the label framelit from the Project Life Cards and Labels framelits.
I’m sending this card off to one of the girls in my team who isn’t feeling well at the moment. I hope it cheers her up a little. Get well soon, my friend!!
I love the Challenge for this fortnight at Caseing the Catty. Who doesn’t like to receive a beautifully packaged gift!! And there are so many gorgeous options in the Holiday Catalogue to choose from!! So I got one of my stamping friends to pick a project for me to case.
Emma selected the Wondrous Wreath card on page 9 of the AU/NZ Holiday Catalogue but I had to do it as a box or bag.
So here is the picture from the catalogue.
Have you seen the Petite Café Gift Bags? They are too cute!! and they are poly-lined so you can add your treats straight in! I grabbed a bag and stamped it in versamark with the dotty stamp from the set. I then set about making the wreath. Now, do what I say not what I do!! You SHOULD cut out the middle of the wreath first before stamping as it is easier to line up the stamp to the cut edge. Did I do that? Umm.. no. I forgot about doing that until I went to cut it out. But I think it turned out ok anyway but really, it’s easier to cut first!!
So I stamped the full wreath in Pear Pizzazz and the petals in Old Olive. Photopolymer stamps make this so easy!! I then added the berries done in Real Red. So a quick run through the Big Shot and, voila, a gorgeous wreath!! I cut out the bow and then the word Joy in Gold Foil cardstock. I used the Banner framelits to cut out the banners and stuck it all together. I tied some Gold ribbon around the bag and added the banner and doesn’t it look great!! I’m really happy with how it turned out. Now to find a present to fit the bag!!
