I missed the start of the latest Colour Inkspiration Challenge. Before I knew it, the deadline to join had passed!! But luckily, it’s a 3 week challenge so there is still another week for you to join in.
It’s another gorgeous combination – Just Jade, Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White.
Isn’t that photo amazing!! Wouldn’t you want to have a bath in that groovy bathroom!!
I wanted to use the Poinsettia Place Suite from the August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue which starts tomorrow!! I just love the Poinsettia dies and how they emboss the cardstock as well as cut out the shapes. I used the Old World Paper embossing folder on the Whisper White piece. I then cut out 2 each of the smaller flowers from the dies. As the photo had that interesting gold artwork on the wall, I decided to add some gold sprigs as well as Just Jade sprigs. I used my bone folder to curve the petals of the flowers to add a bit of dimension and then assembled them using glue dots.
The sentiment is stamped in Just Jade and is cut out using the Stitched Rectangle dies.
I’m usually a traditional Red/Green Christmas colours person, but I really like this very non-traditional combo!! What do you think?
I’d love to see your creation using this colour combo, so please share over on at our Facebook group, here.
We’ve had a couple of days of showers and it’s been so nice to hear rain on the roof. I’m happy to report that our tanks are full!
We are casing our favourites from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. It’s hard to limit it to just one but don’t worry, I’m sure we will explore this again!!
I’m a little late to the Forever Greenery suite, well actually I did like it from the start but I wasn’t sure I needed it. I’ve seen so many lovely cards made with this suite but I wanted to do something other than a green card.
I was sharing the Forever Gold laser cut specialty paper with one of my customer’s yesterday, which I hadn’t used yet so I decided to case the card on the right on page 108.
As you know, I like bling so I had to use the gold side of the paper. I went with Petal Pink for the base and then added one of the frames from the Forever Gold laser cut specialty paper. I then used a scrap of Soft Sea Foam and embossed it using the Greenery embossing folder.
I then stamped a couple of the images and die cut them. I added a piece of gold fern. The sentiment is from the Forever Fern stamp set and I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle dies. Then a quick bow using the Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon.
I’m really happy with how pretty this card is!
I wanted share with you a couple of pics of my kitties, Shadow and Jaster. It’s hard to get a good picture of Shadow but I managed one the other day. Jaster on the other hand, is pretty photogenic but he wasn’t happy the day I took this one! I think you’ll be able to tell who is who!!
Next up is the lovely Peta, and her kitty, Marvi.
We would love to see your creations casing your favourite from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue so please share on our Facebook group.
Oh it’s a bit chilly in Queensland today!! As I type up this post, it’s 12.2 degrees but feels like 8.2. I need to be like my pussy cats and find a patch of sun!!
This week, we are casing a sketch from page 130 of the 2020 -2021 Annual Catalogue.
It’s the one on the right of this pretty set of cards. Here’s the sketch.
I’ve just received the Arrange a Wreath bundle which includes the Arrange a Wreath stamp set and the matching Wreath Builder dies, so I was inspired to use this today for our sketch.
I had a flip through the pretty papers in the Flowers For Every Season DSP to see what might work for this sketch. I ended up going with one of the background pieces in Misty Moonlight for my side panel which I cut out using the Ornate Layers dies. I then cut out a wreath in a piece of Bumblebee patterned dsp. And I did a couple of the little flowers in whisper white. One of the great things Stampin’ Up! have started doing, is to add more than one die of same shape to make it quicker to cut out multiple shapes.
My sentiment is from the Path of Petals stamp set which I inked with Misty Moonlight and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.
I added a couple of rhinestone for a bit of bling.
Don’t you love it when you are editing your photo and you realise that you didn’t stick the sentiment on straight!! Woopsie!!
Don’t forget that when you spend $90 on products in July, you will earn a Bonus Days coupon for $9 to redeem in August.
Next up is the lovely Tina.
We would love to see your creations using this sketch so please share over on at our Facebook group.
Welcome to an exciting new year at Colour Inkspiration!!
It’s our third birthday today!!! Happy Birthday to us!! In honour of our birthday, our theme is Birthday cards. It is also a choose your own colour challenge. You can choose 3 colours and of course you can choose neutrals and metallics as always.
I decided to choose Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and Petal Pink. Now these colours are part of the gorgeous new Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP.
So I choose a piece of the pretty DSP which also features champagne foil for a bit of bling. I started off with a base of Pool Party. I cut out in Petal Pink a solid Eifel tower and the cut out one from the new Parisian dies. I had thought they layered together but I like the 3d look as the real tower kinda looks like that. I then stamped in Cherry Cobbler the Happy Birthday sentiment from the free Sale-a-bration stamp set, Timeless Tulips. Cut out with my favourite Stitched Rectangle dies and then layered with another piece of Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP which I tore around the edges for a softer look.
I just love the Parisian dies, don’t you!
Next up is my friend, Monique.
This challenge will be running for 4 weeks and will end on 10 February. We would love to see your creation so please share it on our Facebook group.
