Welcome back to another fun week at Caseing the Catty. I went to a craft show on Friday with my Mum and sister and we had a great time!! So many projects to make and not enough time!!
We are casing the colours of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and being inspired by a layout from page 30. So the colours are Copper, Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla and Pretty Peacock.
I decided to case the card on the top right. This is such a lovely card, which I think I’m going to re-create as I love the background dsp, the ornaments and the colours. However, I did do something different for our challenge!
For my background, I embossed a piece of copper foil using the Tufted embossing folder. I love this folder!! It is so elegant.
I then cut 2 stitched rectangles in Pretty Peacock and Very Vanilla and stamped the sentiment from the Bells are Ringing stamp set.
I cut out three bells in Pretty Peacock and Copper foil from the Detailed Bells Dies. I trimmed the copper bell and attached it on the bottom left corner. I tied a bow using the copper trim.
I’m really happy with how this card turned out!! It’s so shiny and you know I love bling!!
Next up is the lovely Shannon. I can’t wait to see what clever creation she has this week.
We would love to see your creations over on at our Facebook group.
Well it seems like Summer is coming early to Queensland. It’s been a bit warm this weekend!! This week we are casing an Annual Catalogue project and use Holiday Catalogue supplies.
I really love the heirloom frame card on page 12 of the 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalogue.
For my background, I used the Stylish Scroll embossing folder. Thi sis such a pretty folder. I created the frame using the Stitched Rectangle dies. I used the Toile Tidings DSP for the centre of the frame. The cardinal and sentiment is from the Toile Christmas stamp set and cut out with the Christmas Cardinal dies.
I’m really happy with how this card turned out! My class ladies might be making this one in October.
It’s been a crazy weekend in Queensland with lots of bush fires. I hope everyone has kept safe. There is one fire near where I live, but don’t worry, we are perfectly safe!!
This week at CTC, we are casing the Let it Snow suite, pages 18-23, of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. Actually we could do with “Let it Rain”!!!
This is such a cute suite!! And there’s a snowman punch!!! I was inspired by the card at the top of page 18.
When I first looked at this card, I felt the centre shape would make a great shaker piece. I’ve been dying to use the Feels like Frost dsp so this was my base for the colours. I used a piece of silver glimmer paper behind the dsp like the original. I then created the shaker frame using window sheets, foam adhesive sheets, Ice Stampin’ Glitter and Snowflake Sequins. I then cut a frame from silver glimmer paper using the Stitched Rectangle dies.
I punched out a whisper white 2 1/4″ circle and stamped the snowflakes from Frosted Foliage stamp set in Balmy Blue. For the sentiment, I stamped the Merry Christmas from Christmas Gleaming in Silvery Shimmer ink and used the Stitched Rectangle die. I added a piece of the gorgeous Seaside Spray metallic ribbon behind the sentiment.
It’s a little bit sparkly but I love glitter!!! I really think it’s my favourite colour!!
Next up is the lovely Shannon.
I would love to see your creations casing this section over on at our Facebook group.
Welcome to another fun week of Colour Inkspiration.
This challenge showcases a couple of the new In-colours, Terracotta Tile and Pretty Peacock and also Petal Pink and Blueberry Bushel.
As I was working out my project, I realised that one of the papers in the Noble Specialty DSP was in Blueberry Bushel. I haven’t used these papers yet so I was excited to get it out! I used it as my background and as my centre piece covered a large portion of it, I used a smaller rectangle die and cut out the middle so that I didn’t waste it.
I cut out a stitched rectangle in Petal Pink and I used the You are Simply Wonderful stamp from the Bloom and Grow stamp set. I used the stamparatus to stamp the image, moving the plate down one step at a time. I haven’t done this technique before but it’s so easy! I think my stamp club ladies will be learning something new this month.
I then stamped one of the floral images from the Bloom & Grow set, cut it out using the Budding Blooms die and coloured it using blender pens and the Terracotta Tile, Petal Pink and Pretty Peacock ink pads. I also covered the flowers with Wink of Stella. I added a strip of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon and also a bow.
I’m really happy with how this card turned out! I hope you like it too.
Next up is the lovely Nikki
This challenge will be running for three weeks, so make sure you share your creation with us at our Facebook group, here.
Welcome to another fun week of Caseing the Catty. We are casing the layout on page 159.
Did you know about Stampin’ Up!’s angel policy? If you sell your cards, you need to make sure they include one of the Stampin’ Up! copyright stamps. The Crafting Forever stamp set on page 159 does include this stamp.
It’s fun to see how each of the Crew members have interpreted this layout different! I have just received the Fable Friends stamp set and I had to use it straight away.
I turned the layout onto it’s side and selected a DSP for the background. I went with the Garden Lane DSP. I then cut out a Stitched Rectangle and stamped the little row of ducks in Memento Black. I stamped Mama duck on a separate piece of thick whisper white cardstock and fussy cut her out. I then coloured them all with blends. I used So Saffron, Seaside Spray, Granny Apple Green, Rococo Rose and Crumb Cake. I stamped the grass and sentiment in Pear Pizzazz.
This is such a cute stamp set and I love it!!
Next up is my lovely friend, Rose.
We would love see your case of this layout so make sure you sure your creation at our Facebook group.
What a crazy week it has been weather wise in Australia! From flooding up the top to fires down the bottom and extreme heat in between! I hope you have been able to keep safe.
This week at CTC we are back casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue.
As you may know, all the items in the Sale-a-bration catalogue are free!! YAY!! You can select from these items when you spend $90 or more in my online store (here) or buy contacting me directly to place your order.
I decided to case the card from page 10 which features the By the Bay stamp set. This type of set is not really my style but I liked the layout of this card with the frames.
I think the stitched rectangle framelits are quickly becoming my favourites! I cut out a frame using the Wood Textures DSP (I’ll be sad when it retires as it’s so handy) and a piece of whisper white. I sponged it with a sponge brayer in Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue.
As a cat lover, I wanted to use the new Nine Lives stamp set and the matching Cat punch. And it’s my 18th wedding anniversary today, so it’s the card for my husband. We have two spoilt kitties, Shadow (who is black) and Jaster (my grey boy). I had a few goes at stamping and colouring a black cat but I settled with using the black blends. It’s not just hard to photograph a black cat, but it’s hard to colour one as well!
I stamped the grey kitty in Gray Granite and coloured gently with my aqua painter. I also stamped some blades of grass from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.
I then created a little banner for the sentiment which is also from the Nine Lives stamp set.
Next up is fellow kitty lover, Peta.
We would love to see what inspires you from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. Share your creations with us at our Facebook group.
If you love the Sale-a-bration goodies, keep your eye out as there are some new products coming out mid February!!
Welcome to another week of Caseing the Catty. It’s been so hot this week around Australia. I hope you’ve been able to keep cool.
We are back casing the Sale-a-bration Catalogue. There is so much inspiration within the pages of this little catalogue.
I have cased the three scoops cupcake card on page 6.
My colours were inspired by the 2017-2019 In Colours. The base of the card is Fresh Fig which I have stamped using the sentiment from the Hello Cupcake stamp set. (Hello, SAB freebie!!) I’ve been dying to use the Rectangle Stitched framelits so I cut one of the larger ones using vellum.
I then stamped the cupcake base in Tranquil Tide, and then the scoops in Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst. Then fussy cut them all out. I cheated and didn’t cut the tops out neatly of the ones that were covered up!
Another stitched rectangle for the sentiment.
I added Wink of Stella over the scoops but it doesn’t show well on the photo. You could make this card in so many colour combos!!
Next up is the lovely Peta.
