13 May 2013 – Tri-fold Shutter card – So Gorgeous!!

The yearly Stampin’ Up! convention is almost here and I’m so excited that it is in my home town of Brisbane!! I can’t wait to welcome all my team members to Brissie!! Only 9 more sleeps to go!!!

It’s been very hectic here getting all my swaps ready but I wanted to share this gorgeous card that we did at Stamp Club recently. I came across a tutorial by fellow SU! demonstrator, Tanya Bell, who does the most amazing work and creates fabulous tutorials. You can purchase Tanya’s tutorial here.

As it was so lovely, I didn’t really change very much. It was a fairly challenging card to do as a class but the girls took up the challenge and they all finished their card (although I’m not sure if they’re going to make another one!!).

12 April 2013 – Pretty flowers for all!!

I realised recently that I didn’t have any good flower stamps in my collection. I had been seeing a few cards using Stippled Blossoms which were very pretty and decided that this is the one for me!!

I was inspired by fellow Aussie demonstrator, Leonie Schroder’s card here. Isn’t this a gorgeous card!! I needed to make a card for a work colleague who is leaving today, so I turned it on it’s side and used the Go Forth stamp from the Word Play stamp set. This was a really easy card to make with only a little bit of fussy cutting around the flowers.

I shared this card on a demonstrator only facebook group that I am on, and I inspired Juliette Hendry (here) to make it as well!!

25 March 2013 – It’s Tea Time!!

I can’t believe that Easter is almost here!! The year is just flying by!!

At Stamp Club earlier this month, we had a play with the new Borders Scoring Plate in the Seasonal Catalogue. You can score gorgeous borders and patterns on to cards and scrapbook pages.

I found a lovely card on Pinterest by Suzette here. I thought it was gorgeous and that we could give it a go. I didn’t have the same paper, so I went with Tea for Two DSP. I love this floral paper in it!!

We had fun doing the embossing around the cut out shape. It’s something that is going to take a bit of practice to do, I think!! We dyed the very vanilla ribbon by wetting it with water in a spray bottle and then scrunching it up and rubbing onto the certainly celery ink pad. We then used the heat gun to speed up the drying process. To colour the flower trim, I didn’t wet them but just rubbed them on the ink pad. (My fingers looked a bit pinky on the ends!!)

When I stamped the flowers from Just Believe stamp set onto the background, I actually stamped off first and then stamped it, so that it was only just a shadow of an image.

I hope you like it! Please leave me a comment below.

30 January 2013 – No power!!!

For the last 2 days, we’ve had no power due to the storms. It finally came back on this afternoon at about 4pm, so I did a little happy dance. It’s amazing what we use electricity for!! Our toilets and water are run with electricity so it’s been interesting! Fortunately, we have a big generator which we can use to power the house but it’s noisy so we can’t use it for too long.

I did manage a bit of crafting so I have made a few sneak peaks from the Seasonal catalogue which comes out on Friday. So many pretty things to make!!

I cased this card which I found on Pinterest, by Melissa Davies.

I used the Colour Coach for a colour inspiration, and togther, we decided on Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy. Isn’t the Honeycomb embossing folder to die for!!

7 October 2012 – Christmas Box

Here is the final box of the series.  Seeing as it is only 79 sleeps until Christmas (Aahhhh!!), I thought it would be nice to do a Christmas box as well.  And there are such nice papers to choose from this year, so I need to try them all out!!

I used my favourite Labels Collection Framelits to mat the Heart of Christmas stamp from the Holiday Catalogue.  You can just see it in the photo that I have used the Festive paper piercing pack on the Real Red layer.  Looks really nice!!  The snow flake is from Snow Flurry Die.  You would never know it was hiding a little ink spot!!

The cards are following the same template as the other boxes.  I’ve uused the Candelight Christmas Specialty DSP from the Holiday Catalogue.  This paper is very nice and it includes two flocked window sheets which are very luxurious!!  The Holiday Ornaments Framelits make cutting out the ornaments so easy!  No more dodgy hand cutting for me!  I also love the font on the Greetings of the Season stamp set.  Very elegant.

I hope you have enjoyed the box that I made from Tanya’s tutorial.

Stamp Sets:  Greetings of the Season, Ornament Keepsakes, Heart of Christmas

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade

Paper:  Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Real Red

Accessories:  Big Shot, Labels Collection framelits, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Snow Flurry die, Adorning Accents edgelits, Apothecary Accents framelits, rhinestones, Cherry cobbler baker’s twine.

28 August 2012 – Sneak Peak 2

Wow, posting 2 days in a row, Amazing, I know!!

I found the next card on Pinterest here.  I think this is a really sweet little card which you can whip up quickly and just change the greeting.  I’ve used the postage stamp punch to add a bit of detail around the image.

Stamps:  Betsy’s Blossoms, Kindness Matters

Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Rose Red, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi

Paper:  Crumb Cake (Mum’s favourite!), Whisper White

Accessories:  (What, no big shot!) Postage Stamp Punch

I have cased this one from Pinterest here, from Andrea Walford.  I love her cards and I’m so glad that she has started posting Stampin Up! cards again on her blog.  I made a couple of changes to the card and I used the Memorable Moments stamp set and the matching Labels Collection framelits.  Love it when it all matches and fits perfectly!!

Stamp Sets:  Betsy’s Blossoms, Memorable Moments

Ink:  Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple

Paper:  Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White

Accessories:  Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits

I’m also loving the new foam ink pads.  Check out this video from Shannon West at Stampin’ Up!.

14 August 2012 – July Stamp Club

Hi there,

It’s starting to get a bit warmer during the day now although it is a bit chilly at night time.  Here’s the cards that we made at July Stamp Club (yes I know I’m late posting!!)  I was inspired by swaps that I had received at Convention for all these cards.  The first one is from fellow Demonstrator, Cathy Clark.

Here is her card using the Spirelli technique.

And here is my card.  Yes, it’s time for a Christmas Card!!

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive markers

Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants die, Boho Blossoms punch, White baker’s twine, Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine, Rhinestone.

The next card was inspired by Bronwen Cornish. I did virtually the same card that she did.  We made ours in Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.  You can’t really tell from the photo but we put a multipurpose adhesive sheet over the centre panel and put dazzling diamonds over the top.  We were all a bit sparkly going home!!

Ink:  Tempting Turquoise
