CTC34 – It’s my party and I’ll stamp if I want too!

This week at CTC, we are casing the birthday section of the 2015-2016 catalogue. There are so many projects to choose from!!

I liked the card on page 11 featuring the new Build a Birthday stamp set. This is such a cute set!! I can see it will be popular!!

So here is the card I cased.

I decided that my circle would go on the outside layer so that I didn’t have as much trouble centring it but I won’t tell you how many times I had to stamp it to get it right!!

I used the colours in the washi tape for the inspiration of the rest of the card. Did you know that the catalogue tells you the matching colours!! Yes it does, on the washi tape page!!

I even did a bit of fussy cutting for the banner. I did have a couple of goes at this too!! Not my favourite thing to do but it does look nice once it’s done. I used the new Banner Triple punch to cut out my banners. I love this!!

Here’s a close up of the little banners in the corner.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards. To continue on the hop, you can visit my very talented friend, Jessica.

It’s a favourite!!

Whilst I was having fun at convention last week, my two dear friends, Emma and Jess, who couldn’t come, ran an event for our non-convention going team members which we called Convention@Home. They did an amazing job running challenges, discussion and prize patrols!!

I tried to help out beforehand and made cards for some of the challenges they did. The first challenge was to use your favourite retiring stamp set. This was a bit hard for me as I have a few favourites retiring 😦 I do love Stippled Blossoms as it looks so pretty without being that hard to use.

I also used a Mojo Monday sketch for inspiration.

I’m pretty happy with how my version turned out!

I’m so sad that the Perfect Polka dots embossing folder is retiring! It was my first folder (sob).

CTC20 – It’s about my favourites!!

Fancy that, this week’s challenge is using my two favourite products!!! Blendies and Framelits!!!

Our challenge this week is to be inspired by a project from the Sale-a-bration catalogue and use Blendabilities and Framelit dies in your project.

So I’ve kinda done this one before (ooops!!) so I had to try and find something new to do. I used this card from page 18 of the AU/NZ SAB catalogue as my base inspiration.

I’ve used the idea of looking through a hole in a fence. Isn’t the From the Herd set cute!! Although I think I might need to practice my animal colouring a bit more!! #itsmeanttobeartistic #lol

So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.

Guidelines

Guidelines –
• Create a new project for the current challenge.
• Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back here so others can join in on the fun. Please ensure that you link up your blog post, not your whole blog.
• Mostly SU (Stampin’ Up! ®) products (retired or current) to be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.
• Have fun and inspire others!

Hope you can join in!!

Happy Stamping!!

What a pretty bauble

I don’t know about you but I love a pretty, colourful, sparkly bauble on my Christmas tree.  And if I could somehow make this stamped bauble into a real one, it would be on my tree in a flash!!  I’m speaking of the Christmas Bauble stamp from the Holiday catalogue, of course!!

I knew as soon as I saw this stamp that I needed to have it!!  It’s also great for colouring with Blendabilties (fancy that!!)

I found this great sketch at Mojo Monday and thought it would suit.

I used the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack as my inspiration for the colours.  I used Whisper White as the base cardstock and Garden Green as the next layer.  I used a piece of Gold Satin ribbon as a touch of luxury.  Then I got stuck into colouring with my blendies!!  Love, love!!!

To create the sentiment, I stamped the image from the Good Greetings stamp set and used the Modern label punch to punch it out.  To mat it, I used the Decorative label punch and cut it in half.

If you like the greeting stamp, you can earn this set for free by hosting a qualifying workshop up to 31 October.  Contact me at stampinwithrebecca@yahoo.com.au to arrange a date.

Happy Stamping!!
