ESAD 2017-2018 Favourites Blog Hop

I’m so excited to be a part of the ESAD blog hop and sharing my favourites from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue with you.

I am loving all things flowers in the new catty and two of my favourite sets are the  Floral Statements stamp set and the Climbing Orchid stamp set.

For my first card, I silver embossed the Thanks stamp of the Floral Statements stamp set.  I have to tell you, this looks so pretty all on it’s own!  I then coloured it with the watercolour pencils.  I used Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry for the flowers and Old Olive for the greenery.  A little bit of blending with a blender pen, and voila!! it’s all done!  I then layered it up with Silver foil, Rich Razzleberry and an Old Olive base.  I just love the Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon, don’t you?

I just received my order of the new embossing paste and had to play with it straight away!  I used a small bit of paste and mixed it with Cherry cobbler and Cajun Craze re-inkers to make a brick wall using the decorative masks.  This stuff is so fun!!  And very addictive!!!

To create my orchids to climb up the wall, my clever friend, Bronwyn Eastley has created a number of orchid images to inspire us.  Click here to see her images.  I decided to use this one for my next card.

To create the stems, I used the stem from the Seasonal Layers thinlits, cut out two and stuck them together with my fine tip glue pen.  Whilst that was drying, I created the flowers using Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight.  I also added some Stella to the DD flowers for a bit of bling.

I then created the sentiment using the Birthday Banners stamp set and the Bunch of Banners framelits.

I’m pretty happy with these two cards!!  Please leave me a comment and let me know if you do too!

CTC132 – Birthdays

It’s so exciting!!  My new catalogue order arrived this week!!  I petted, patted and drooled over it.  But did I stamp with it?  Nope!!  I’ve had a busy couple of days and I’m working this weekend, so I’ll be playing next week.  Can’t wait!!

We are casing the Birthday section of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue, pages 68-85.

Once again, there are so many amazing cards to case in this section.  I realised that I haven’t used the Sweet Cupcake stamp set for ages, but I liked the sample on the page 85.

I decided to create the base layer on a separate piece of card so that if there was a mistake, I wasn’t wasting the whole card.  I started with the Happy Birthday stamp from the Sweet Cupcake set using Tranquil Tide.  I accidently had them a bit too far apart.  When I looked at the stamp set, it has a very handy belated stamp!  I stamped in it Powder Pink.

I stamped the cake base and the bottom layer of icing in Powder Pink.  I then did the top layer of icing in Berry Burst.  I also added some Clear Stella.  You always need sparkle on a cake!!  hehe!!

I used the Layered circle framelits for the base and the Birthday banner stamp set and matching Bunch of Banners framelits.

Actually I did use one of my new products!!  You’ll never guess, cos you can’t see it!!  I got the new mini dimensionals!!!  They are too cute!!

I also added some thick white twine.  I’m rather happy with the end result!!  Now who’s birthday did I miss!

Next up on the hop is the lovely Julia.

Don’t forget to pop over to our Facebook group where you can join in with the challenge.  And if you are an Australian or New Zealand demonstrator, we are looking for more Crew members.  Just participate in June’s challenges and we will consider you.

Happy Caseing!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you!!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!  I certainly did.  I must have been very good as Santa was very generous!

Since my two holidays, I feel like I have been playing catch up trying to get everything done that needed to get done before Christmas.  I didn’t quite make it with getting enough Christmas cards made so I’m sending Happy New Year cards as well this year!!

I was inspired on Pinterest by this gorgeous card by Create with Kaitlyn.  I wanted to use the Banners for Christmas stamp set as it had a Happy New Year stamp and the Banners for You stamp set as it had the flowers. I also changed the colours.  I often use My Create Ink to help me with colour combo’s if I have a couple of colours in mind but not sure what to put with them.  This time I had Whisper White and Sweet Sugar Plum and it suggested So Saffron, Pool Party and Mint Macaroon.

As I had a few to send, this was a nice and easy card to make lots of!!

Don’t forget the Year-End Closeout Sale ends on 3 January 2017.  Click here to see what is on sale!!  If you are a DSP addict, you are going to want to check out the paper!

Happy New Year!!  See you in 2017!!

CTC96 – Big Shot

ctc_header

Can you believe that we are in September and my holiday is just around the corner!!    Aren’t you just loving the 2016 Holiday catalogue?  There are so many gorgeous projects to case!!  Of course, this week is no exception.

We are casing the Big Shot section between pages 8-11.  There are lots of amazing stamp sets in this section and it was hard to decide which one to use.

ctc96

I love the Banners for Christmas stamp set and the Bunch of Banners framelits so I was excited to case this card on page 10.

ctc96-c

I did pretty much the same as the catalogue but I did gold foil instead of gold glimmer paper as I’m going to use this card for my stamp club project and I didn’t have enough glimmer paper for everyone.  I also used the red and green glitter embossing powder as it is so pretty and sparkly.

ctc96-a

ctc96-b

I think I like the red best but both look pretty.  Let me know which one you like!!

Next on the hop is the lovely Rachel.

CTC86 – Everyday Occasions

ctc_header

I’m back this week with CTC and I’m so excited that our new Crew members are hopping with us today.  Make sure you leave them a comment and welcome them to the Crew!!

We are caseing the Everyday Occasions section of the Annual Catalogue (pages 66-91).  This is a huge section, so I decided to case two cards.

ctc86

My first card was inspired by the gorgeous Detailed Floral Thinlits on page 76.  They are so pretty and look amazing yet are so easy to create.

ctc86-aa

I love the white on white look but I decided to go with white and Emerald Envy.  I just love this green.  It’s a very easy card to create, just cut out the thinlits and attach to the background!!  Then stamp the sentiment and you are done!!  Or you might want to stamp your sentiment before attaching just in case there is a creative error!! Not that I did that!! As I love Emerald Envy so much, I added a ruched ribbon bow instead of twine and painted the whole card with Wink of Stella.

ctc86-b

For my next card, I wanted to play with the Banners for You stamp set and co-ordinating bundle as it just arrived on Friday and I NEEEDED to play with it!!

ctc86-ccc

I pretty much cased the whole card from page 78 and just added another layer of Mint Macaron as one of the background layers.  Sometimes the catalogue card is so pretty, why reinvent the wheel!!  The colours on the photograph have come out quite orange but the original is a lovely peach.

ctc86-a

I haven’t had much opportunity to make cards for a few weeks, so I’ve really enjoyed making these!  I hope you like them too.  Make sure you continue to hop with my lovely friend, Simone.  You’ll love her project this week!!
