Congratulations to the winner and crew pick of last week’s challenge! Did you know you can join in with us too? All you have to do is join our Facebook group and share your project with us. It’s that easy!!
We are getting ready for Mother’s Day and sharing a project inspired by the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue or the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.
I was inspired by the card on the top left of page 69 using the Bunch of Blossoms bundle.
I went with a colour combo of Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride, Whisper White and a touch of Pear Pizzazz. I didn’t want to use ribbon behind the flower so I created my own dsp using the Brushstrokes stamp set. I should use it more often as it looks rather nice, if I do say so myself!!
I had to search hard through my stamp sets to find a Happy Mother’s Day one! Luckily, Teeny Tiny Sentiments to the rescue!! I also used the retiring Banner framelits, which I will miss as I am very challenged at cutting an even banner!!
And have you noticed something new? The flower centre is the gorgeous new gold faceted gems!! Aren’t they lovely!! I’m so excited!!!!
Next up is the very talented Kelly Kent.
Don’t forgot to pop over to the Facebook group and join in!!

Can you believe that it is only a week until Christmas!!! This time next week, we will be sitting in a happy food coma in the air conditioning!!
I’ve still got a little bit of shopping to do and a few more cards to send out and then I’m all prepared!!
This week at Case-ing the Catty, we could choose to case anything we liked in the 2016 Holiday catalogue or the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue. I really like the This Christmas Specialty DSP (and I still have lots of it left!!) and I still need a few more Christmas cards, so I decided to case the card at the bottom of page 26 on the right hand side.
You can’t tell from the big picture but this card also uses the Holly Textured Impressions Embossing folder which is just so nice. I’ve kept my card pretty much the same, I’ve just used different papers of the DSP and I didn’t fussy cut quite as much. My excuse, it’s hot at home today and I wanted to get into the air-con!! (Note to self: must look into air-con for the craft room).
I did put a bit of Stella on the flowers for a bit of bling as well.
I hope you have enjoyed hopping with Case-ing the Catty this year. I have certainly enjoyed creating for it!! We will be back on 8 January 2017 and sharing our projects from the new 2017 Occasions Catalogue.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a lovely time celebrating with your family.
Next on the hop is the lovely Rachel.
Don’t forget you can still join in and share your projects. Just click on the link below to visit our post with all the dets.

This week at CASE-ing the Catty, we are being inspired by the lovely, gorgeous Holiday Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Catalogue.
There is so much lovely designer series paper in this catalogue. And I have to say that I’m having trouble cutting up the Home for Christmas DSP!! I usually have no problems cutting up DSP but this one is just so nice!!
I was inspired by the cards on page 8 of the catalogue and I decided to CASE them fairly closely. Why re-invent the wheel when they look gorgeous anyway!!
I cased 3 of the projects on this picture. I used the Home for Christmas DSP and the matching Cozy Christmas stamp set.
I think the little reindeer on the DSP are very cute so I cut out 2 (one for the inside). I used my On Film framelits to create the frame which I should do more often as it looks great!!
And how cute is that little reindeer on the inside. It’s a great way to use the deer which are on the side of the DSP.
For my second card, I decided to turn the gift bag into a card. I don’t have the pom pom trim so I decided to put a Stripes satin ribbon bow at the top.
For my final card, I went with the bow card. I love my bow builder punch so any opportunity to use it!! And I’m loving square cards as well!!
I hope you have enjoyed my cards for this week and are inspired to actually use all that lovely, gorgeous designer series paper!!!

Happy stamping and hopping

This week at Case-ing the Catty, we are tackling the Artistic Expression section of the catalogue. This is a huge section with so many amazing cards to choose from. I might have to do a few more for next week as well!!
Seeing as it was so large, I decided to do two cards. (I also couldn’t decide!!) For my first card, I chose the Hope card on page 117 as I love the Striped Scallop thinlits but I don’t use them often enough and I haven’t used my Watercolor Words set yet either.
Here is my version. I went with Soft Sky as the base, Cherry Cobbler for the sentiment and Garden Green and Lost Lagoon for the flowers and petals.
I lightly stuck down the scallops with random glue dots. I also added some sequins instead of rhinestones as I have recently discovered the Metallics Sequin Assortment in the catalogue. There are white, black, silver, gold and clear sequins in 3 shapes!!
For my second card, I decided to case the card on page 133. I like the look of the stitching but there’s no way I’m getting out my machine just for that!!
So I got my trusty real red marker and drew some lines around the word once I had stuck them on. Lucky we are not aiming for perfection!! lol. I should mention that the Layered Letters Alphabet is so easy to use!! The letters stamp really nicely.
I also used the Alphabet rotary stamp to do the sentiment. Lesson to be learned. When creating a word with the rotary stamp, do not take a short cut and start part way along the stamp. You won’t have enough space!! Ask me how I know!!!
I hope you like my cards this week. To continue on the hop, you can visit Rebecca B here.
