It’s a favourite!!

Whilst I was having fun at convention last week, my two dear friends, Emma and Jess, who couldn’t come, ran an event for our non-convention going team members which we called Convention@Home. They did an amazing job running challenges, discussion and prize patrols!!

I tried to help out beforehand and made cards for some of the challenges they did. The first challenge was to use your favourite retiring stamp set. This was a bit hard for me as I have a few favourites retiring 😦 I do love Stippled Blossoms as it looks so pretty without being that hard to use.

I also used a Mojo Monday sketch for inspiration.

I’m pretty happy with how my version turned out!

I’m so sad that the Perfect Polka dots embossing folder is retiring! It was my first folder (sob).

Are you ready to Hippity-Hop??

easter hop es

It is time for a blog hop with my fabulous stamping team, the Eureka Stampers!! With Easter quickly approaching, our theme is, of course, Easter!! Can you believe how fast the year is going!!!

You may be starting with my blog, or possibly have come from Carly Middleton’s blog. Don’t you just love her cute project!!

I have a couple of projects to show you today. I think the Happy Easter Bunny stamp in the Occasions catalogue is very cute and I wanted to showcase colouring the bunny.

For my first card, I wanted to use the Subtles Colour Collection and my blender pens, and I carefully coloured using Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz. I stamped using staz-on ink as I didn’t want it to bleed when I coloured.

My second card is made using the Brights Colour Collection and the Flowerpot DSP as the background. To be a little different, I used the bow builder punch. Isn’t it cute!!

easter hop 4

I think I will be sending these to my nieces for Easter with an ITunes gift card!! Easter eggs do not travel well in the mail!!

My third card is made using the Indescribable Gift stamp set. I think the flowers in this set are beautiful. I have also used my aqua painter to colour the flowers. I’m happy with how it turned out.

3 March 2014 – I love flowers

And the only way I going to get some, is if I make them!!

I am loving the new Spiral Flower Original die. One of the girls at my recent team day did a presentation on it and did an awesome job with convincing us all that we need it!!

I found this cute bag on Pinterest by BJ Peters, and thought it would make a lovely card to do at Stamp Club.

I didn’t change a lot as I thought it was really cute. I was really happy with how my rose turned out!!

1 January 2014 – Can you believe it?

Can you believe that it’s a new year already!!! I can’t!! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a great new year with friends and family.

I wanted to share a project that I made for a fabulous friend’s birthday.

I had received a Christmas version last year (woops, sorry the year before!!) and wanted to make a non-xmas one for my friend.

I picked up the cane heart for $4 from a Homewares store (which I then saw for $2 in the Boxing Day sales!) Then it was just a matter of deciding on a stamp set and away I went.

cane heart 1

My friend loves purple so I used Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. I also used a couple of embossing folders, Lacy Brocade and my first favourite, Perfect Polka Dots and the Oval Accent Bigz die and of course, the Deco Labels Collection framelits. Gee, the Big Shot really got a work out on this project, didn’t it!!

cane heart 3

A bit of hand cutting and then I was ready to assemble it and attach it to the heart with my trusty hot glue gun.

I hope you like it!!

Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Lacy Brocade embossing folder, Perfect Polka dot embossing folder, Oval Accent Bigz die, Deco Labels Collection framelits, circle punch, large rhinestones, white organza ribbon, Vintage faceted designer buttons.

1 November 2012 – Time for a birthday!

I’ve got a few friends having birthday’s over the next few weeks, so I’ve had to take off the Christmas hat and put on a birthday one!  It’s actually nice to do something different!

This one was for Fiona, in which I also included an SU! gift voucher.  If you are looking for a gift for birthdays’ or Christmas, I’m happy to do vouchers.

I cased this one from Pinterest here.  I loved the colour combination and, of course, who doesn’t love polka dots!!

One of my new favourite, non-Christmas, papers is Birds of a Feather DSP.  It features some of the new in colours and is very cute.  The catalogue doesn’t do it justice.  I’ve used a few strips as the banners.

Stamp Set:  Perfectly Penned

Ink:  Primrose Petals

Paper:  Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Birds of a Feather DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot, Polka Dot embossing folder, Apothecary Accents DSP, Rhinestones.

26 September 2011 – Class Cards

Hi everyone,

Isn’t spring a lovely time of year!!  Not too hot, not too cold, just right!!

Here are a couple of cards that we did at my recent stamp club.  The girls enjoyed making them!!  The first is a petal card, thanks to a great tutorial on Splitcoaststampers by Beate Johns (click here for the link).  I felt it wasn’t too hard to make and looks pretty good, if I do say so myself!!  I love this paper too!! (and the Perfect Pennants die!!)

Here’s a picture of it open.

Stamp sets:  Happiest Birthday Wishes

Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder

Paper:  Flirtatious Specialty DSP, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight

Accessories:  Circle Scissor Plus, Big Shot, Scallop Circle Die,Perfect Pennants Die, 1 3/4″ scallop circle punch, 1″ circle punch, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled ribbon

The other card that we made used my other favourite new paper, Mocha Morning Specialty.  I love the velvet feel to a couple of the pages!!

I did case this card but I can’t find where from, but thank you!!

I used markers to ink the stamp and I think it came out really well.  I love this technique!!

Stamp Sets:  Oval All

Ink:  Real Red marker, basic black marker

Paper:  Basic gray, real red, whisper white, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot, Polka dot embossing folder, real red grosgrain ribbon, Scallop oval punch, large oval punch

27 January 2011

I thought I would start the day by making a card using a new Sale-a-bration stamp set but it was just too hot in my craft room to be inspired so I have given in and put the air conditioning on and relocated to the kitchen!!  So here I am, updating my blog instead of crafting!!!

I made a card earlier in the week, using a technique that I learnt from Paper Crafter’s Library called Ruched Ribbon.  It’s done without using any cotton, just sticky strip.  I love the effect!!!

Stamp Sets:  Hodgepodge Happiness

Paper:  Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Brights Designer Series Paper Stack,

Ink:  Rich Razzleberry

Accessories:  Big Shot, Top Note Die, Polka Dots embossing folder, hodgepodge hardware, Designer label punch, Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon, Basic rhinestones, Itty Bitty Shapes punch
