1 January 2014 – Can you believe it?

Can you believe that it’s a new year already!!! I can’t!! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a great new year with friends and family.

I wanted to share a project that I made for a fabulous friend’s birthday.

I had received a Christmas version last year (woops, sorry the year before!!) and wanted to make a non-xmas one for my friend.

I picked up the cane heart for $4 from a Homewares store (which I then saw for $2 in the Boxing Day sales!) Then it was just a matter of deciding on a stamp set and away I went.

My friend loves purple so I used Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. I also used a couple of embossing folders, Lacy Brocade and my first favourite, Perfect Polka Dots and the Oval Accent Bigz die and of course, the Deco Labels Collection framelits. Gee, the Big Shot really got a work out on this project, didn’t it!!

A bit of hand cutting and then I was ready to assemble it and attach it to the heart with my trusty hot glue gun.

I hope you like it!!

12 April 2013 – Pretty flowers for all!!

I realised recently that I didn’t have any good flower stamps in my collection. I had been seeing a few cards using Stippled Blossoms which were very pretty and decided that this is the one for me!!

I was inspired by fellow Aussie demonstrator, Leonie Schroder’s card here. Isn’t this a gorgeous card!! I needed to make a card for a work colleague who is leaving today, so I turned it on it’s side and used the Go Forth stamp from the Word Play stamp set. This was a really easy card to make with only a little bit of fussy cutting around the flowers.

I shared this card on a demonstrator only facebook group that I am on, and I inspired Juliette Hendry (here) to make it as well!!

14 October 2012 – Congrats!

One of my downline has just announced that she’s having baby no. 2, which is exciting news!!  (Even though it means she will miss convention next year, really I think she should have timed that better!!)

So I needed to send her a congratulations card.  I was inspired by the Birds of a Feather Designer Series Paper.  I wasn’t really into this DSP from the pictures in the Catalogue but seeing as I have earnt some free paper from a promotion earlier in the year, I thought I would get it.  Well I am really impressed!!  It is very nice and perfect for baby cards!

I’ve also used some of the free ribbon from this months’ special.  Check out my Specials page for the details.

As I mentioned the other day, I don’t really have a lot of kiddie or baby stamps but I do have some with the right words so here is my card.

Ink:  Primrose Petals

Paper:  Island Indigo, Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Birds of a Feather DSP.

12 October 2012 – I’m addicted!!

My name is Rebecca and I’m addicted to Pinterest!!!  I just love it!!  I’ve pinned so many cards to make.  I don’t think there is enough time to make everything I’ve pinned!!  But I have been inspired by them all.  Here is a card from a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from Germany, Judith Laureano.  I changed a couple of details as I used the Adorning Accents edgelit for the scallops and  the Decorative label punch for the sentiment.

I really love the Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  It is very noice!!!

Tell me what you think!

24 September 2012 – Quilts

I have dabbled in lots of crafts including embroidery, cross stitch, folk art, stamping, scrapbooking and patchwork over the years.  I was crusing around Pinterest the other day (don’t you just love it!! I am addicted!!) and found a card that looks like a wedding ring quilt!!  Turns out this gorgeous card was featured on Mary Fish’s blog, Stampin’ Pretty, which I also love.  The card was made by Ellen Smallwood.

I recently purchased the lattice die and this is a great way to showcase it!  Here’s my version of Ellen’s card.

Here’s a close up of the “wedding ring quilt”.  I have “quilted” it with the new Lacy Brocade embossing folder from the Holiday catalogue.
