16 September 2012 – ESAD 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Hi everyone!!

It’s time again for another ESAD Blog Hop.

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it  with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now the blog hop started at Chloe Evans and you may be joining in from across the sea with the talented Narelle Hoggard, but if you are joining in here, no worries, just keeping on hopping around each blog until you get back here.

Now for my project.  I’ve joined in a couple of the U-Stamp with Dawn Big Shot classes and received lots of templates for great projects but I’ve rarely used them. (Bad, I know!!)  I wanted to make something a little different this time, so I had a look through my templates and decided upon the Petal Cone Accordion Wreath which was designed by Betty Traciak.

I have used the Summer Smooches DSP which is so bright and cheery, just right for spring.  You need to cut out lots of petal cones from the die and also the half scallop circles.  I’ve also used the bird from Betsy’s Blossoms and the For you comes from Layered Labels.  I just love the matching framelits.  (I must confess, I’m rather addicted to the framelits, I’ve bought nearly all of them!!  and the rest are on the list!!)

Here’s a close up of the centre.

I’ve used the Scallop circle die and I’ve place rhinestones in each scallop (did you know that there are 30!).  I’ve used one of my favourite embossing folders, Elegant Lines.  The birdie is sitting on a branch from the Bird builder punch.  I also cut out the wing of the bird and popped it out with a dimensional.    I had stamped the whole image from the Layered Labels stamp set in Rich Razzleberry but it need a bit of Daffodil Delight to brighten it up.  I used the Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon for the bow.

Stamp Set:  Layered Labels, Betsy’s Blossoms

Ink:  Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry

Paper:  Summer Smooches DSP, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White

Accessories:  Big Shot, Petal Cone die, Scallop circle die, Elegant Lines embossing folder, Apothecary Accents Framelits, bird builder punch, rhinestones, Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.

Now your next stop on the hop is with the very talented Delys Cram from New Zealand.  Just click on her name and enjoy your trip across the sea!

I have recently purchased the new Doily Triple Layer punch and I just love it!!  I can’t wait to show it to my stamp club girls!!

I also got the new seam binding ribbon and it is lovely to use.  So easy to tie into a bow.

I cased this card from Debra on Splitcoast Stampers and just changed the colours to suit what I had.  Thanks also to the Colour Coach for helping with the colours, gotta love it!

A bit fiddly, but certainly has the wow factor!!

4 February 2011

I’m getting used to have a few days off and I’m starting to get lazy, I think!!!  It’s been pretty hot the last couple of days and it’s been very tempting just to sit in the air conditioning and read (or play with my new iphone!!)

I’ve finaly got around to taking some photos of a few cards that I have made when it wasn’t as hot!!  I’m getting in early for my sister-in-laws birthday in March.  She loves all things asian so here is a card from the Kimino Kids Stamp Set which I cased from here.

Stamp Set:  For your birthday, Kimino Kids

Paper:  Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Whisper White

Ink: Black staz-on, Poppy parade marker, Baja Breeze marker, So Saffron marker

Accessories:  Big Shot, lattice embossing folder, Finial Press embossing folder, Small oval punch, large oval punch, basic rhinestones

Here’s a photo of the detail of the embossing.

I’ve also been playing with the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets.  I really love Punch Bunch as it goes with all the punches (funny that!!)  Here’s one that I cased from here but I turned it around a bit.  I inked up the stamp and then sponged around the edges with the platinum shimmer paint before stamping on the cardstock.  The photo doesn’t really do it justice but it looks great!!

Accessories:  Big Shot, Elegant Lines emobssing folder, Platinum shimmer paint, Whisper White Organza Ribbon

24 January 2011 – First Post, finally!!

My goal this year is to post at least once a week.  I know, it’s a bit of a challenge!!

So here is a long one to start the week off.

One of my customers (hi Lynn) is moving and I wanted to give her a little gift to show my appreciation.  I got the Milk carton die for Christmas and I have been dying to use it.  They are the cutest little milk cartons that you have ever seen.  They are a bit smaller than I first thought but what they lack in size, they make up for in cuteness!!!

I found an example of a milk carton made into a bird house and I fell in love!!  I just had to make one.  I used a piece of actetate behind the hole, so that the surprise inside didn’t fall out.

Paper:  Marina Mist, Elegant Soiree DSP, Acetate

Accessories:  Big Shot, Milk Carton Die, bird punch, 1″ circle punch, sticky strip, scalloped edge punch

I also made a card for Lynn, using the Word Play set.  I love the words in this set, espeically the size.  I also used the Colour Coach for the combination – Marina Mist, Crumb Cake and Cajin Craze.

Stamp Set:  Word Play

Paper:  Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze

Ink:  Cajun Craze

Accessories – Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, Brad from Hodgepodge Hardware, Elegant Lines Embossing folder, Big Shot

I’ve got another post plannned for this week, so keep an eye out.  Until then, have a great week!!
