I’m back with Colour Inkspiration this week! It’s been a little while since I had a chance to join in here.
Check out our colours for this challenge. We have Night of Navy, Merry Merlot, Blackberry Bliss and Pretty Peacock.
Aren’t these colours just divine! As always, I get out a piece of each cardstock and see how I feel inspired by them. I was also inspired by the image and wanted to create a luxurious background. So I flipped through my embossing folders and I was drawn to the Tin Tile embossing folder. Once I had embossed a piece of Blackberry Bliss, I wanted to step it up a notch and I brushed the retired Golden Glitz ink pad over the cardstock.
I then cut out a couple of shapes from the Stitched So Sweetly dies and stamped a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
We would love to see your creations using this colour combo, so please share over on at our Facebook group.
I’m so excited to share some of my favourite new goodies from the brand spanking new 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue!!
This week, we are casing our favourites from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.
My new catty order has been shipped (yay!!) but not here yet, so I’m sharing a couple of projects using the goodies I received on pre-order.
I love the Onate Garden suite which has been available since April. I’m casing the Thank You card on page 64.
I’m really enjoying the World of Good Specialty DSP and the new brass foil. So the base of my card is Cinnamon Cider (one of the new in-colours). I’ve added a piece of vellum under the foil which I’ve cut out with the Ornate Borders dies. I used Mossy Meadow cardstock for the piece behind the sentiment. I also stamped the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set in Mossy Meadow (which apparently needs to be re-inked!!)
I couldn’t stop at just one card this week!! I just purchased the Tasteful Touches bundle which includes the Tasteful Touches stamp set and the Tasteful Labels dies. I really got this bundle for the dies as there are so many great labels to use. But I’d seen a few cards done using the stamps so thought I would get both. The In Good Taste DSP is part of this suite and it’s fabulous!! It has lots of great textures including wood, tiles and fabric.
I like the cards on page 123 so I decided to case the blue tile card on the right hand side.
I have cased this fairly closely. I’ve used the same dsp but I’ve used a different die and stamp for the sentiment. I also did my flowers in Crushed Curry. I don’t have the In Good Taste Elements so I used scalloped lace trim.
I love this DSP!! I need more!! (Luckily, there’s another pack in my order that’s on the way!!)
Next up is the lovely Shannon. You are going to love her creation this week.
We would love to see your favourites from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. Share over on our Facebook group.
Welcome to week 10000 at home. What day is it? Oh that’s right, it’s Sunday and we are Caseing the Catty!! I haven’t left the house for a week now except to go for walks around my estate. I think I’m going to struggle when I go back to the office!!
This week, we are casing the colours of the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP which are Bumblebee, Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Terracotta Tile and Whisper White.
One of my team members shared a group of cards on our team Facebook group using her scraps and I was inspired to create the same with a twist. I grabbed out the cardstock for each of the colours and using Early Espresso as the base of the card, I embossed the other colours using a variety of the floral embossing folders and then trimmed them into 1″ strips.
I then started to attach to the base piece and went from there!! I’m so happy with the end result and it was so easy!! These also look stunning using DSP.
I went a little different on the next one!! Just call me crazy!!
Of course, I had to use my favourite Stitched So Sweetly dies for the sentiments which are from Beautiful Bouquet and Abstract Impressions.
Next up is the lovely Sandra, across the ditch in New Zealand.
I’d love to see what you create using the colours of this pretty designer series paper! Please share over on at our Facebook group.
Welcome to another fun week at Casing the Catty. I hope you are managing with all the things going on. I’m working from home and I am getting used to having a sleep in each morning. I’m going to struggle getting up to drive an hour to work especially if it’s in the middle of winter!!
We are back for week 2 of casing the flowers of the Ornate Garden Suite. Now you don’t need to have the suite (although feel welcome to buy it from my store here!!)
I was inspired by a couple of the Ornate Garden images. For my background, I was inspired by the embossed background on the card on the bottom left. I cut out the large flowers from the Flourish dies and glued them to a base piece of So Saffron cardstock. As I got glue on the background, I sponged the whole background. I then embossed it with my favourite subtles embossing folder.
I’m really trying not to use Happy Birthday sentiments as I have so many birthday cards already. So I used the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and once again, my favourite Stitched So Sweetly dies.
I wanted to add some of the star (?) shapes from the dies but it was an outline die, so I glued it to Old Olive cardstock and cut it out by hand. I added a couple of the Gilded Gems for a touch of bling.
I’m quite happy with how this card turned out! I hope you like it too.
Next up is the lovely Peta.
We would love to see how you have been inspired by the flowers of the Ornate Garden Suite over on at our Facebook group.
