CTC130 – Time for a sketch case

Oh it’s a bit chilly in Queensland today!! As I type up this post, it’s 12.2 degrees but feels like 8.2. I need to be like my pussy cats and find a patch of sun!!

This week, we are casing a sketch from page 130 of the 2020 -2021 Annual Catalogue.

It’s the one on the right of this pretty set of cards. Here’s the sketch.

I’ve just received the Arrange a Wreath bundle which includes the Arrange a Wreath stamp set and the matching Wreath Builder dies, so I was inspired to use this today for our sketch.

I had a flip through the pretty papers in the Flowers For Every Season DSP to see what might work for this sketch. I ended up going with one of the background pieces in Misty Moonlight for my side panel which I cut out using the Ornate Layers dies. I then cut out a wreath in a piece of Bumblebee patterned dsp. And I did a couple of the little flowers in whisper white. One of the great things Stampin’ Up! have started doing, is to add more than one die of same shape to make it quicker to cut out multiple shapes.

My sentiment is from the Path of Petals stamp set which I inked with Misty Moonlight and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

I added a couple of rhinestone for a bit of bling.

Don’t you love it when you are editing your photo and you realise that you didn’t stick the sentiment on straight!! Woopsie!!

Don’t forget that when you spend $90 on products in July, you will earn a Bonus Days coupon for $9 to redeem in August.

Next up is the lovely Tina.

We would love to see your creations using this sketch so please share over on at our Facebook group.

Happy Stamping!!

Social Stamping and Rainbows

I’m excited to be a part of Kelly’s Social Stamping Blog Host this weekend. Our theme this week is Rainbow’s which have become the symbol of connectedness during these times of isolation.

A big thank you to Kelly for bringing so many stamping friends together to share inspiration and to feel a bit more connected with others.

So first of all, I googled what the colours of a rainbow are. Yes, I know I should know but I needed to be sure!! I have just received the Ornate Garden Suite which is an early release from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue and I couldn’t wait to play with the Ornate Style stamp set and the large flower image.

I decided to start with a black card base to make the rainbow colours stand out. I then used the largest border die from the Ornate Layers dies to cut out another base. I stamped the floral image in Memento black and then grabbed out blends in the rainbow colours. I used Lovely Lipstick, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Call me Clover, Balmy Blue and Blackberry Bliss. I added Wink of Stella over the flowers for some sparkle.

I stamped the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks set in Highland Heather (thought I had used the HH blend!!) and cut out using the Stitched Rectangle dies. I added a piece of Real Red ruched ribbon as a banner and popped the sentiment on that.

I even did a panel for the inside. I coloured a piece of cardstock using the blends and then cut out with a die from the Ornate Layers dies.

Isn’t that pretty!! Rainbows are just so bright and cheerful, aren’t they!

Next up is the lovely Liz.
