Oh it’s a bit chilly in Queensland today!! As I type up this post, it’s 12.2 degrees but feels like 8.2. I need to be like my pussy cats and find a patch of sun!!
This week, we are casing a sketch from page 130 of the 2020 -2021 Annual Catalogue.
It’s the one on the right of this pretty set of cards. Here’s the sketch.
I’ve just received the Arrange a Wreath bundle which includes the Arrange a Wreath stamp set and the matching Wreath Builder dies, so I was inspired to use this today for our sketch.
I had a flip through the pretty papers in the Flowers For Every Season DSP to see what might work for this sketch. I ended up going with one of the background pieces in Misty Moonlight for my side panel which I cut out using the Ornate Layers dies. I then cut out a wreath in a piece of Bumblebee patterned dsp. And I did a couple of the little flowers in whisper white. One of the great things Stampin’ Up! have started doing, is to add more than one die of same shape to make it quicker to cut out multiple shapes.
My sentiment is from the Path of Petals stamp set which I inked with Misty Moonlight and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.
I added a couple of rhinestone for a bit of bling.
Don’t you love it when you are editing your photo and you realise that you didn’t stick the sentiment on straight!! Woopsie!!
Don’t forget that when you spend $90 on products in July, you will earn a Bonus Days coupon for $9 to redeem in August.
Next up is the lovely Tina.
We would love to see your creations using this sketch so please share over on at our Facebook group.
It’s a great day for crafting as it’s rainy today! I had to share with you this card I made using the new Arrange a Wreath bundle which includes the Arrange a Wreath stamp set and the Wreath Builder dies.
I used a piece of DSP from the Flowers for Every Season for the background. I then stamped a few flowers from the stamp set and also die cut a few as well. The larger flower is cut out from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper which is just so sparkly!!
I added a piece of Just Jade ribbon across the bottom and stamped the sentiment in Magenta Madness and cut it out with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I also put Wink of Stella on the flowers.
I’d love to know what you think of this bundle, so please leave me a comment below.
Welcome back for the second time tonight!! I’m back with Caseing the Catty as always at 7pm!! We are casing the colours of the Playing with Patterns DSP. There are a lot of colours in this fun pack of paper – Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Purple Posy and Whisper White.
So after I realised that I had created a card using the wrong dsp, I whipped up another one in the same layout in the right colours!!
I’ve used the Peony dies and created 2 flowers in Calypso Coral. Now these flowers are a little difficult to put together but once you know how, it’s easy!! Here’s an picture to show how.
So there are 4 pieces of the flower. On the top left image, you tuck the smallest piece into the next sized piece. Then turn it over (see the bottom left image) and make sure the 2 edges line up. Then glue together. Repeat for the next two layers, tucking into the slot and lining up the back. I hope that helps!!
Onto my card, I’ve used a piece of the Play with Patterns DSP for the background. I cut a strip of whisper white and cut the edges using the Stitched Nested dies. The sentiment is in Calypso Coral and is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set. I also stamped a couple of leaves in Coastal Cabana from the Prized Peony stamp set and cut out using the Peony dies.
So in case you were wondering, here’s my other card, using the colours of the Artistry Blooms DSP.
I used the Artistry Blooms DSP for the background and I also embossed it using the Subtles embossing folder for a bit more texture.
Next up is the lovely Peta.
We would love to see your creations using this colour combo so please share over on at our Facebook group.
Welcome to the ESAD 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue blog hop!!
I’m so excited to play with my new goodies. I am loving the new Peony Garden Suite. The colours are just so pretty!! They are Basic Gray, Gray Granite, Petal Pink and Whisper White. And the matching Peony Garden DSP is stunning!!
So I started off with a base of Gray Granite and added a piece of the DSP. I then cut a stitched rectangle from the DSP as well. I inked up the flower from Prized Peony using markers (I love this technique!) in Petal Pink and Old Olive and cut out using the Peony dies.
The suite also includes Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon and I added a piece across the card. I then added the flower and the sentiment which uses the Tasteful labels dies and the matching Tasteful Touches stamp set. I am a big fan of the stitched dies but I have to say I really love the embossed dies in these Labels dies. I added a couple of the clear Elegant Faceted gems for a bit of bling.
I was excited to see that next up is my SU travel buddy, the very talented Bronwyn Eastley!! I can’t wait to see what amazingness she has created.
Here is a list of everyone in the hop today, just in case you get lost.
