Welcome to an exciting new year at Colour Inkspiration!!
It’s our third birthday today!!! Happy Birthday to us!! In honour of our birthday, our theme is Birthday cards. It is also a choose your own colour challenge. You can choose 3 colours and of course you can choose neutrals and metallics as always.
I decided to choose Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and Petal Pink. Now these colours are part of the gorgeous new Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP.
So I choose a piece of the pretty DSP which also features champagne foil for a bit of bling. I started off with a base of Pool Party. I cut out in Petal Pink a solid Eifel tower and the cut out one from the new Parisian dies. I had thought they layered together but I like the 3d look as the real tower kinda looks like that. I then stamped in Cherry Cobbler the Happy Birthday sentiment from the free Sale-a-bration stamp set, Timeless Tulips. Cut out with my favourite Stitched Rectangle dies and then layered with another piece of Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP which I tore around the edges for a softer look.
I just love the Parisian dies, don’t you!
Next up is my friend, Monique.
This challenge will be running for 4 weeks and will end on 10 February. We would love to see your creation so please share it on our Facebook group.
Welcome to a New Year, a new catalogue and new challenges at CTC!! We are mixing things up this year and our challenges will be running for 2 weeks. The Crew will be doing a weekly hop every Sunday but will be doing the same challenge for 2 weeks.
The 2020 January – June Mini Catalogue started on Friday!! So we are starting off the year by casing your choice of project from the catalogue.
I started from the back of the catalogue and decided to case one of the cards in the Botanical Prints group on page 62.
I cased the card in the middle and used the Peaceful Poppies suite. I went with a Pool Party base and embossed a piece with the new stunning Parisian Flourish embossing folder.
I then stamped a few poppies and poppy backgrounds in Poppy Parade from the Painted Poppies stamp set. I then cut them out using the Painted Labels dies. I also cut out one of the labels for the sentiment which is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. This set is also part of the Peaceful Poppies suite which includes the Painted Poppies Bundle, the Peaceful Moments Bundle, the Peaceful Poppies DSP, Sequins, Whisper White Seam binding ribbon and Peaceful Poppies elements. You can order all these goodies with just the one code!! (153938 in case you need to know!)
I cut out a couple of poppy outlines and leaves using the Poppy Moments dies. You could cut the leaves in two colours to create shading but I decided to keep it the same. I glued together the two layers of leaves and the poppy outlines.
I added a piece of braided burlap trim and then layered up the leaves and flowers. After playing with the layout, I used glue dots on the leaves and dimensionals on the flowers. I then added the sentiment block over the top and added a burlap bow. I added a bit of Wink of Stella onto the flowers for a touch of sparkle.
This card looks so luxurious with that embossing folder! I can’t wait to play with it more.
Next up is the lovely Shannon.
We would love to see your creations from the 2020 January – June Mini Catalogue. This challenge will end on 19 January.
I hope you have had a fabulous week. I had my final stamp class yesterday, and we had a lovely time!! I love getting together with my ladies each month and I love that sometimes I have to interrupt them from chatting to show them the next step of the project!!
This week, we are casing anything we like from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.
I decided to case one of the cards in the bundle index on page 3.
I haven’t used the Tidings All Around bundle for a while and this card jumped out at me.
Again, I went with my traditional colour scheme of green/red. So I started with a base of Cherry Cobbler and then trimmed a piece of Thick Whisper White. I stamped the sentiment first in Cherry Cobbler and then the wreath in Pear Pizzazz. I cut out a wreath in Pear Pizzazz using the All- Around Wreath die and mounted it using mini dimensionals. I then cut out 6 leaves in gold glimmer paper and attached using glue dots. Then a quick bow in gold shimmer ribbon and a few Toile Tidings glitter enamel dots for the holly.
I really love this card, and I think I might be using this design as I need about 20 more Christmas cards to send out!!
This is our last hop for 2019 so I just wanted to thank you for supporting Caseing the Catty over the year. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!! We will be back on 5 January 2020.
Next up is the lovely Judy.
We would love to see your creation over on at our Facebook group.
It’s been a very hot couple of days in Queensland but fortunately it’s gone back to normal warm December weather today. Thank goodness!!
I had a fun Friday doing a Miss Biscuit cookie course. I learnt how to ice sugar cookies in 7 Christmas designs. The room smelt like gingerbread all day!!
This week, we are casing the Wrapped in Plaid suite, pages 12-17 of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.
I love the Wrapped in Plaid suite, and the gorgeous DSP. When flipping through the pages, I decided to case one of the cards on page 15 which uses the Peaceful Boughs Bundle.
I decided to keep the branches green and went with Pear Pizzazz. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler as I like the traditional red/green Christmas combo. I then stamped sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out using the Beautiful Boughs die. I cut out the branches with a piece of retired Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.
I added a few snowflakes from the Snowflake Sequins for a little more sparkle.
Next up is the lovely Michelle.
We would love to see your creations from this section. Please share it over on at our Facebook group.
It’s only 24 more sleeps to go!!! I’m so excited, I love Christmas!! I’ve had a week off to do some Christmas shopping, crafting and baking!! Sadly I’m not having any more time off and am working over Christmas so I need to get stuff done now.
We are taking a break from Christmas cards and are casing the Kids & Babies section, pages 98-105 of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.
There are lots of cute cards to choose from!. I’ve decided to case one of the cards on page 101 on the top right of the image
I love the look of the vellum Stitched Lace die so I decided to do the same. I used Rococo Rose cardstock for the background. The scalloped edge is die cut from the Seasonal Layers dies.
One of my craft ladies has been unwell, so I will be sending this card to her. I used the Healing Hugs stamp set with the flower fussy cut. You can’t see it properly but there is the large sentiment shape from the Roses Die in Seaside Spray. The small sentiment is also cut from the same dies. I added a twist of Seaside Spray metallic ribbon for a bit more texture. I did add Stella to the flower but it doesn’t photograph well.
Next up is my lovely friend, Julia.
We would love to see your creation casing this section, so please share it over on at our Facebook group.
Welcome to a fun week of Colour Inkspiration. I’m having a week off work as I’m not having any time off over Christmas (very sad about that!). I’m having a lovely time sleeping in (7am is a sleep in, right?), doing some Christmas shopping, crafting with my Mum and doing some Christmas baking.
We have a great colour combo to play with this week, with Blueberry Bushel, Shaded Spruce, Coastal Cabana, Pretty Peacock and silver.
Isn’t this image just gorgeous! I always start by getting out the cardstock in all the colours and I realised that Blueberry Bushel is part of the Noel Peacock Foil pack. I wanted to emboss it, using the Tin Tile embossing folder. Doesn’t it look stunning!
I used a Pretty Peacock base, and layered the BB foil piece with Silver foil. I decided to use the Bells are Ringing set and matching Detailed Bells Dies. I silver embossed the large bell and then stamped the inside parts of the bell using the Silvery Shimmer ink. I then cut out three other bells in Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana and Silver foil. I also stamped a bunch of leaves in Shaded Spruce.
The sentiment is in Blueberry Bushel and cut out with my favourite Stitched Rectangle dies.
Next up is the lovely Monique. I can’t wait to see what she has created.
Welcome to a fun week of Caseing the Catty!! I haven’t had a chance to join in with the last couple of challenges as it’s that busy time of year!! Last weekend, I went to Sydney for Onstage and was able to catch up with my team. I was lucky to attend Centrestage with my upline and a couple of my stamping friends.
We are trying a different challenge this week and casing an Annual Catalogue layout and give it a Holiday Twist.
It’s always nice to go back through the Annual Catalogue and look closely at all the gorgeous projects. I didn’t get too far in and went with a layout on page 31.
I like the watercoloured background so I used a piece of shimmery white cardstock and did a wash of Garden Green. Once it was dry, I attached to the Real Red card. I really like the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and the sentiment, which I cut out using the Beautiful Boughs dies.
The Real Red ruched ribbon is lovely and works perfectly behind the sentiment. I cut out a few branches and added Ice glitter to the tips.
Next up is the lovely Judy, who I got to hug last week!!
We would love to see your creation casing an Annual Catalogue project and giving a holiday twist over on at our Facebook group.
