It’s all about the Angle (or is it Angels!!)

I recently got the new polymer set, Bravo, which has lots of huge stamps in it!! I was browsing Pinterest for a card to do a stamp club to show this great set to the girls, when I came across this one from Debbie Henderson, here.

I was keen to have a go in her colour combo as it had lots of gold and sparkle on it, but when I looked at my stash, I didn’t have any gold foil sheets (how does that happen!!). So then I thought I would try a colour combo inspired by the latest addition to my washi tape collection, Beach House, which is Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Real Red.

It was quite interesting to work out how to get the angles on the card, but I just cut 2 pieces the same size and then laid them on top of the base piece. I then played around with the layout and once I was happy, I used a ruler and pen and drew a line where the edge of the card was on the top layer, then did the same on the second layer. I cut them out with my paper trimmer and had to work out which piece went where!! We certainly had fun with this part at stamp club!! One of the girls had to put her cut off bits back around the card so she could work out which way was up!!

We then used the paper piercing tool and went around the edges of the card and the first layer. I always forget how nice this looks until I do it again!

I love the banner framelits! I am really bad at cutting banners evenly, so I was ecstatic when Stampin’ Up! brought out these framelits.

Happy Stamping!!

14 July 2013 – New loves!

This card features quite a number of my new favourites!!!

I was a little slow off the mark to embrace the paper doilies which were featured in the last seasonal catalogue. I liked them, I just kept forgetting to order them!! I finally got them and was so glad to see that they had carried over to the new catalogue.

I found this cute card on Pinterest by Becky Jensen, here.

I got to play with the new Simply Pressed Clay. It certainly doesn’t feel like clay! I made a batch of flowers one night watching the tv. So easy to do!! I just left them white as I wanted to try colouring them with markers. When colouring, make sure you touch them gently as they can mark easily.

One of the most exciting parts of this card is the washi tape!! So easy to use and it looks great. I love this stuff!!

I wanted to make a banner for the sentiment, so I trimmed the Thank you stamp in the Hello, Lovely set.

thanks doily
