We are back with another Sunday Caseing the Catty blog hop! Sunday’s are coming around so quickly, aren’t they! Especially when you have to go to work or school the next day. But I hope we can cheer up your Sunday evening with lots of cards to inspire you!
This week, we are back to casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue. So many glorious freebies to be had!! Did you know that some of the free stamps and paper are only available until 15 February? No? Well you need to get your order in so you can get them before they are no longer available!!
I just love the Hello stamp set. It covers more than just birthdays, although that is what I have focussed on this week. I was inspired by the card on page 18 of the catalogue.
I loved the gold Hello on the original but I was too lazy to do embossing!! (It’s been pretty hot and humid this week, which doesn’t make for easy crafting!!) So I thought I would try White staz on ink on my watercoloured Bermuda Bay background. But it didn’t come out as white as I would have like, but I was committed so I continued with it. I then stamped the birthday sentiment in Rose Red and added a piece of the It’s my Party washi tape as well. (It’s one of my goals to USE washi tape this year, rather than just collect it!!). I then added a piece of the Bermuda Bay stitched ribbon (which is sooo much nicer than the picture in the catalogue!!)
I decided to try a clean and simple version of this card and I love it!! The colours look so nice and crisp!
So don’t forget that you can receive this lovely stamp set for free when you spend over $90 in my online store. Just click on the products below to go directly to my store.
And don’t forget that you can also join in with our hop by adding your link here and we will be choosing a winner next week!!
Next on the hop is the lovely Judy May
And in case you want to go back to Kathryn,
Happy stamping my lovely friends!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
Can you believe that it’s a new year already!!! I can’t!! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a great new year with friends and family.
I wanted to share a project that I made for a fabulous friend’s birthday.
I had received a Christmas version last year (woops, sorry the year before!!) and wanted to make a non-xmas one for my friend.
I picked up the cane heart for $4 from a Homewares store (which I then saw for $2 in the Boxing Day sales!) Then it was just a matter of deciding on a stamp set and away I went.
My friend loves purple so I used Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. I also used a couple of embossing folders, Lacy Brocade and my first favourite, Perfect Polka Dots and the Oval Accent Bigz die and of course, the Deco Labels Collection framelits. Gee, the Big Shot really got a work out on this project, didn’t it!!
A bit of hand cutting and then I was ready to assemble it and attach it to the heart with my trusty hot glue gun.
I hope you like it!!

It’s such a hot day today!! I hope you have been able to keep cool somewhere! I finished my last night shift this morning and so I’ve had a nanna nap and am now raring to go (well, only a bit!)
I wanted to share with you the ornaments that I have made for friends for Christmas. I used the Holiday Ornaments set and did a combination of stamped ones and Designer series paper for them. I’m happy with how they came out and I hope they all like them.
Stamp Set: Ornament Keepsakes

It was only a matter of time before I made one of the gorgeous ornaments featured on the front of the Holiday Catalogue. There are lots of tutorials available to show you how to make this gorgeous decoration. I used one by Linda Heller, which is really easy to follow.
I think I will be doing a separate class to make one of these as they are fairly time consuming to make. I think they would look pretty in other colours as well.
And here’s the back.

Ink: Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Very Vanilla
Accessories: Big Shot, Holiday Ornaments framelits, Dazzling diamonds, tombow glue, two way glue pen, linen thread, Designer Rosette die, vintage faceted buttons, pearls, crochet trim, large scallop circle punch.
There are lots of interesting new items tucked away in the new 2012-2013 Catalogue. Each time I look through, I find something new! I recently discovered the Kraft Gift boxes on page 161. They are $4.95 for 4 boxes which is a great price!
I watched Patty Stamps video here as inspiration for my box. I have used one of the new sticky rounds to attach the rosette to the top of the box which made it really easy to stick it firmly to the box. I have stamped the box using Snowflake Soiree stamp set. The greeting on the front of the box is Heart of Christmas and I have used the Apothecary Accents framelits for the shape. You can’t see it well in the photo but I have put a Vintage Faceted designer button and place a pearl jewel in the middle.

Paper: Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
