CTC06 – You are a star!!!

I have just bought the Stars framelits and I am in love! They are very nice!! I had bought the Be the Star stamp set and forgotten to get the matching framelits (tell me, how does that happen!!). So when the current Big Shot special included a Holiday stamp set and the star framelits for 15% off, I snapped them up straight away!!

So I was hanging out to try them on this week’s project for Caseing the Catty. We are up to the Kids section of the catalogue and I thought I would try the project on page 93 of the AU/NZ catalogue.

BUT, I didn’t have a jar, so I decided to try it as a card. I like to use the Colour coach to help choose a colour combo and I went with Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party. I used the new Hearts & Stars decorative mask and white staz-on on a piece of Window Sheet and let it dry. I then got out my new framelits (actually they hadn’t even hit the shelf yet) and cut out the silver glimmer paper stars. Then I used the star template from the Eclectic paper-piercing pack to go around the star. I found that I had to go over it without the template to get a deep hole that you could see.

What do you think?

So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.

Guidelines

* Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
* Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
* Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country’s catalogue where you got your inspiration.
* SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

Hope you can join in!!

29 October 2012 – Candlelight Gorgeousness!!!

I am in love with the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP in the Holiday Catalogue.  It is just gorgeous!!!!  There are two sheets of flocked window sheets which are just beautiful!!!

I cased today’s card from fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Stephanie Robnett on a demo only facebook group.  It’s not exactly the same but that doesn’t matter.  I like it!!

I really love the Apothecary Accents framelits which I used to cut out the centre piece.  They can even cut through the glimmer paper.

I coloured the flowers using blenders pens and ink pressed into the lid of the ink pad.  I’m not very good at doing shading but I think I did ok on this one.

Stamp Set:  Bells & Boughs

Ink:  Black Staz-on, Real Red, Gumball Green

Paper:  Naturals White, Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot, Apothecary Accents framelits, White organza ribbon, real red grosgrain ribbon, vintage brads, glimmer paper, blender pens.

4 October – Birthday Box

The birthday box was the first one that I made.  I’m really happy with how it turned out.  I used my favourite framelits, Labels Collection and the co-ordinating stamp set, Apothecary Accents.  You can’t really tell in the photo but I used the new Festive paper-piercing pack on the Midnight Muse layer.  Such a nice touch!!

Here are the cards that I made to go into the box.

I used the same sketch for each card as it was easy to duplicate.  I really like the Comfort Cafe DSP and how it matches with the new in-colours, Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit.

Stamp Sets:  Apothecary Accents

Ink:  Black Staz-on, Soft Suede, Cajun Craze marker, Summer Starfruit marker, Midnight Muse marker

Paper:  Comfort Cafe DSP, Pool Party, Midnight Muse, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze

Accessories:  Big Shot, Labels Collection framelits, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Stampin’ Pierce Mat.

4 February 2011

I’m getting used to have a few days off and I’m starting to get lazy, I think!!!  It’s been pretty hot the last couple of days and it’s been very tempting just to sit in the air conditioning and read (or play with my new iphone!!)

I’ve finaly got around to taking some photos of a few cards that I have made when it wasn’t as hot!!  I’m getting in early for my sister-in-laws birthday in March.  She loves all things asian so here is a card from the Kimino Kids Stamp Set which I cased from here.

Stamp Set:  For your birthday, Kimino Kids

Paper:  Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Whisper White

Ink: Black staz-on, Poppy parade marker, Baja Breeze marker, So Saffron marker

Accessories:  Big Shot, lattice embossing folder, Finial Press embossing folder, Small oval punch, large oval punch, basic rhinestones

Here’s a photo of the detail of the embossing.

I’ve also been playing with the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets.  I really love Punch Bunch as it goes with all the punches (funny that!!)  Here’s one that I cased from here but I turned it around a bit.  I inked up the stamp and then sponged around the edges with the platinum shimmer paint before stamping on the cardstock.  The photo doesn’t really do it justice but it looks great!!

Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White

Ink:  Rich Razzleberry

Accessories:  Big Shot, Elegant Lines emobssing folder, Platinum shimmer paint, Whisper White Organza Ribbon
