As you may know, one of my favourite perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is being able to see and order products first. And this week, demonstrators got to see and order from the 2017 Holiday catalogue!! I tell you, you are going to love it! I’m presently unpatiently waiting for the post lady to bring my treasures to me!!
Whilst I am waiting, I’ve been playing with my goodies from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue for Caseing the Catty. This week, we are casing the For Babies & Kids section from pages 102-111.
I actually didn’t go past the first page of this section to choose my project for this week. I decided to case the card at the top right of the display (which by the way, is just gorgeous, isn’t it!)
The Bundle of Love Specialty DSP is so pretty and I just love how the reverse of the pink and blue dsp are the same pattern in Gold!
I wanted to use a different colour so I went with Wisteria Wonder. I don’t have the Born to be Loved stamp set (but I’m thinking maybe I do need it!) so I decided to create my heart using the Bloomin’ Heart thinlits and gold foil. How pretty is the heart in gold! I then stamped the sentiment from the Ribbon of Courage set in Wisteria Wonder and cut it out using the Sweet and Sassy heart framelits. I went for the same look with the Metallic edge ribbon and added three mini sequins with the fine tip glue pen at the bottom.
I attached the gold heart using a combination of standard and mini dimensional’s.
I hope you have enjoyed my case of this card this week. You can share your projects at our Facebook group, which you can join here.
Next up is fellow kitty lover, Peta.
Stampin’ Up! Product List
I have some exciting news to share. I’m on the Colour INKspiration Crew! It consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.
There’s also a Facebook group for Stampin’ Up! ® enthusiasts who would like to share their paper craft projects using the colour combinations.
Here’s the deal – Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop. Our first one starts on Wednesday, 11th January.
Members of the group have the option to join the Colour INKspiration ‘Challenge’ by uploading photos of their projects and can link back to their personal blog if they wish to. Make sure you click on the link below and ask to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in with the challenges too.
So before we get started on 11 January, we are having a little pre-challenge to get into the groove. Our colours are Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron. You can add any neutrals or metallics papers that you like. I was excited about this combo as Bermuda Bay is one of my favourite colours.
So I just unpacked my pre-order parcels that I’ve had since the start of December and I just had to play with the Inside the Lines DSP which you can earn for free during Sale-a-bration. Yay!! And of course, I had to use the new water colour pencils too. Fortunately there was a Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight pencil. Oh my goodness, these pencils are amazing! Even if you aren’t arty, they make your project look stunning. All I did was a little scribble on the flower then used my blender pen to spread the colour around.
I also used the new Falling in Love embellishments. You are going to fall in love with these. So pretty!
I’m not one for making new year’s resolutions but I do intend to send more birthday cards this year, so I wonder who is going to get this one. If you would like me to send you a card, just comment below with your email address and birthday.
Don’t forget that the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration start on 4th January!! Woo hoo!!
Happy New Year!!
Stampin’ Up! Product List
This week at Case-ing the Catty, we are tackling the Artistic Expression section of the catalogue. This is a huge section with so many amazing cards to choose from. I might have to do a few more for next week as well!!
Seeing as it was so large, I decided to do two cards. (I also couldn’t decide!!) For my first card, I chose the Hope card on page 117 as I love the Striped Scallop thinlits but I don’t use them often enough and I haven’t used my Watercolor Words set yet either.
Here is my version. I went with Soft Sky as the base, Cherry Cobbler for the sentiment and Garden Green and Lost Lagoon for the flowers and petals.
I lightly stuck down the scallops with random glue dots. I also added some sequins instead of rhinestones as I have recently discovered the Metallics Sequin Assortment in the catalogue. There are white, black, silver, gold and clear sequins in 3 shapes!!
For my second card, I decided to case the card on page 133. I like the look of the stitching but there’s no way I’m getting out my machine just for that!!
So I got my trusty real red marker and drew some lines around the word once I had stuck them on. Lucky we are not aiming for perfection!! lol. I should mention that the Layered Letters Alphabet is so easy to use!! The letters stamp really nicely.
I also used the Alphabet rotary stamp to do the sentiment. Lesson to be learned. When creating a word with the rotary stamp, do not take a short cut and start part way along the stamp. You won’t have enough space!! Ask me how I know!!!
I hope you like my cards this week. To continue on the hop, you can visit Rebecca B here.
Stampin’ Up! Product List:
This week at Case-ing the Catty, we are casing the Mother’s Day section of the Occasions catalogue.
You may have come from the fabulous Nikki’s blog or be starting here. I’ve decided to case the note book shown on page 36 of the AU/NZ catalogue.
But I didn’t want to do a notepad for my mum. I do need a gift box for her special present, so I used the notepad as my inspiration.
I made the box using the Gift Box punch board and stamped it with one of the flower images from the Mum’s Love stamp set. I love this punch board!! I then made a belly band and stamped it using the retiring in-colours, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding and also So Saffron (which isn’t retiring!!). I added a couple of sequins for a bit of bling!!
To make the tag, I used the Party Pennants Bigz die and cut out a Gold Vellum banner and a whisper white one. I used the sentiment from the Mum’s Love stamp set and added a few flowers like the belly band.
I added the in-colour twine and a string of sequins. I also put a piece of washi tape across the bottom of the tag.
I hope you like my box!! and I hope Mum does too!!
Guess what I got Mum!!! Fits perfectly.
Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. The next stop on the hop is Stasia.

You may have heard that Stampin’ Up! have decided to discontinue the Blendabilities. I’m really sad about this as you may have noticed that I really like them!! They have had numerous issues with them and have decided not to continue to offer a product which doesn’t meet their high standards. Whilst I’m sad that they are no longer available, I am proud to be a part of a company that has such high standards and is willing to make such a decision.
So I had a workshop recently and decided to focus on our other pens, the Stampin’ Write markers. One of my favourite techniques is the marker to stamp technique. It is a great and easy way to add more than one colour to a stamp. And it’s always an Ooohh moment when it works!!
I was inspired by a card on Pinterest, see here. I have changed it around a bit, including turning it on its side. I have used the Big News stamp set which is great for large sentiments.
Here’s a close up of the bling!!!
I hope you like it!!
Stampin’ Up! products used:
Stamp set: Big News

Paper: Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Birthday Bash Specialty DSP
Accessories: Bermuda Bay sequins
It’s time to case the Birthday section of the Occasions catalogue at Case-ing the Catty this week.
I really like the Balloon Bash stamp set although I must confess that this is the first time I’ve used it!!
I was inspired by the project on the right hand corner of page 12 of the AU/NZ catalogue.
I wasn’t that keen to make a pompom out of baker’s twine today but I do like the idea. I’ll keep it in mind for another day!
I used the same DSP but I selected the Birthday Bash Specialty DSP as it has a bit of gold flecks on it. And we always need a bit of bling, don’t we!!
I also added a bit more bling with the Bermuda Bay sequins as part of the hangy bit. (that’s a technical term, you know!)
I hope you can join in with us this week.

I’m excited to share with you that I am a part of the Design Team of a new challenge blog called CASE-ing the Catty. You can check it out, here.
Every Friday, we will be sharing projects which we have cased (Copy and Share Everything) from the latest Stampin’ Up! catalogue. We will be working our way through the different sections of the catalogue, starting with Gift and Packaging.
There are so many great projects to choose from! I decided to case the cute Tag a Bag Gift box on the top left hand corner of page 14 of the Aussie catalogue.
I love these boxes!! They are easy to assemble and all you need to do is add a few bits and pieces and you’re done!! I haven’t bought much Designer Series Paper from the new catalogue yet but the first one I did get was Gold Soiree. Every sheet features Metallic Gold Ink!! Bring on the bling!!!
And what goes with gold dsp but gold sequins!! A paper doily and gold sequins is a match in heaven. I also tied it with some whisper white cotton ribbon.
And of course, I had to stamp my greeting (from Label Love) in gold ink. You know, you can never have too much gold!!
Let me know what you think!! and make sure you join in with the Challenge.
Check out what the rest of the team has created, here.
