14 August 2012 – July Stamp Club

Hi there,

It’s starting to get a bit warmer during the day now although it is a bit chilly at night time.  Here’s the cards that we made at July Stamp Club (yes I know I’m late posting!!)  I was inspired by swaps that I had received at Convention for all these cards.  The first one is from fellow Demonstrator, Cathy Clark.

Here is her card using the Spirelli technique.

And here is my card.  Yes, it’s time for a Christmas Card!!

Stamps:  Merry & Type

Paper:  Letters to Santa DSP, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive markers

Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants die, Boho Blossoms punch, White baker’s twine, Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine, Rhinestone.

The next card was inspired by Bronwen Cornish. I did virtually the same card that she did.  We made ours in Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.  You can’t really tell from the photo but we put a multipurpose adhesive sheet over the centre panel and put dazzling diamonds over the top.  We were all a bit sparkly going home!!

I’ve cased this one from here on Pinterest.  Once I’ve worked out how to put a link in, you can follow me on Pinterest too!  I’ve embossed the bigger framelit and then sponged it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  Gotta love sparkle!

6 February 2012 – Wedding Card

It’s been such a hot day today that I stayed in the air conditioning and worked on a couple of ideas for cards for my next stamp club in a weeks time.  I recently purchased the Medallion stamp set which I have seen used on so many lovely cards and thought it was about time that I inked it up.

I just love Splitcoaststampers for inspiration (click here).  I found this great card by cgpop and gave it a wedding twist, seeing as I’m not ready to start Christmas cards just yet.  I’ve done a bit of embossing in white for the medallion and then gold for the sentiment.

Here’s a close up .

Stamps Set:  Medallion, Happy Greetings

Paper:  Brushed Gold, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Versamark

Accessories:  Gold embossing powder, white embossing powder, pearls, organza ribbon, crochet trim, large scallop circle punch

18 January 2012 – Spice Cake

No, I’m not cooking a spice cake today, but I am in love with the Spice Cake DSP in the latest mini catalogue!! The pictures really don’t do it justice.

I’m attempting to be more organised this year and actually send out more birthday cards this year.  To this end, I’ve been thinking about a birthday card folder where I can get the cards ready at the start of the month, including addressed, stamped and written in and then just be able to whip the card out a week before and post it off.

I’ve had lots of cardboard used as stiftening for projects so I thought it would make a good base for the folder.  I was going to use a different DSP for each month but I fell in love with Spice Cake so the whole book will be the same paper.  I’m also using the matching stamp set, Spiced Paisley.

Of course, my photo really doesn’t do it justice but you get the idea.  I’ve usedthe Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Sizzlits for the title and the very glittery Silver glimmer paper.  There’s also the new velvet ribbon for the border and flowers.

Here’s close up of each page.  Special birthday’s are indicated by a rhinestone.

I also got the new seam binding ribbon and it is lovely to use.  So easy to tie into a bow.

I cased this card from Debra on Splitcoast Stampers and just changed the colours to suit what I had.  Thanks also to the Colour Coach for helping with the colours, gotta love it!
