I was inspired by the card in the middle on page 12, featuring the Tasty Trucks stamp set.

I decided to use the new Sale-a-bration stamp set, Make a Medallion as I hadn’t inked it up yet.  I also wanted to use the Sweet Sugarplum glimmer paper (which is also a new SAB freebie).  I went to the My Creak Ink site and put in Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White and it came up a few suggestions.  I decided to go with Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, Whisper White and Island Indigo.

I used the same Sparkle embossing folder as it’s cute.  I then stamped the medallions using Island Indigo and Mint Macaron and the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum.  To cut out the circles, I used the Layering Circle famelits.  I just love the scallops!!

Mojo Monday Circles

Seeing as I have time to play in my craft room this week, I decided to try out a few challenges. You may have noticed that I like to try the Mojo Monday sketches. I thought this week’s sketch was interesting and decided to give it a go.

Here is the Sketch. And here is the link to the challenge.

I’ve recently purchased the Pretty Petals DSP stack and it’s so pretty. I decided to base my colours around this stack, so I went with a base of Mint Macaron and then a layer of Calypso Coral before the DSP. I cut out a silver glimmer paper circle using two circle framelits. Have I ever mentioned that I love bling? No? Well I love it!!! lol.

I think this hostess set, A Whole Lot of Lovely, is my favourite ever. And this Thank You stamp is just lovely. I used my Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral markers to ink it up. To create the banner, I just used the reverse side of the DSP. Don’t you just love that!!

Here’s my card.

CTC09 – Thanks!!!

Thanks

Can you believe that we are more than halfway through casing the catalogue!! We are up to the Thanks section this week. There are so many great cards and projects to case in this section. It was hard to decide which one to make to share this week!!

I went with an old favourite stamp set (well, it’s not that old!!), the Six Sided sampler. I am a sucker for stamps which have matching punches or framelits. Anything to avoid cutting out myself!!!

The project that I am casing is from page 145 of the AU/NZ catalogue.

page 145

I wanted to do different colours to the catalogue so I got out my trusty Colour Coach to pick a combo. I wanted to use Tangelo Twist, a new in-colour which I haven’t used very much yet.

I ended up going with Tangelo Twist, Island Indigo and Sahara Sand.

To do the twine, I just cut a long piece and scrunched it up in my hand and stuck it on the card with some dimensionals. Easy Peasy!!!!

And for the bling, I used some champagne Glimmer paper. Looks so sparkly!!

Please let me know what you think!!

So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.

Guidelines

* Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
* Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
* Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country’s catalogue where you got your inspiration.
* SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

Hope you can join in!!

29 October 2012 – Candlelight Gorgeousness!!!

I am in love with the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP in the Holiday Catalogue.  It is just gorgeous!!!!  There are two sheets of flocked window sheets which are just beautiful!!!

I cased today’s card from fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Stephanie Robnett on a demo only facebook group.  It’s not exactly the same but that doesn’t matter.  I like it!!

I really love the Apothecary Accents framelits which I used to cut out the centre piece.  They can even cut through the glimmer paper.

I coloured the flowers using blenders pens and ink pressed into the lid of the ink pad.  I’m not very good at doing shading but I think I did ok on this one.

Stamp Set:  Bells & Boughs

Ink:  Black Staz-on, Real Red, Gumball Green

Paper:  Naturals White, Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP

Accessories:  Big Shot, Apothecary Accents framelits, White organza ribbon, real red grosgrain ribbon, vintage brads, glimmer paper, blender pens.

29 September 2012 – Festive Friday Challenge

I came across the Festive Friday Challenge at Nicole Derendorf’s blog and thought it was a nice, easy sketch that I could do.  I immediately thought of the Festival of Prints DSP stack in the Holiday catalogue.

It was hard to choose which paper to use, so I picked 5 different ones.  My next dilemma was finding a small stamp to fit into the Modern label punch.  Most of my small word stamps have retired but I managed to find one in the Petite Pairs stamp set which fitted nicely.  I matted it on the ends and then added a decorative label punch with the silver glimmer paper as it is Christmas after all and we need to have some bling!!  This would be a great card for mass production as it doesn’t take very long to put together.

I’d love it if you would leave a comment so that I know there’s someone having a look!

Here’s a close up of the bling.

Stamp Set:  Petite Pairs

Paper:  Festival of Prints DSP stack, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo

Ink:  Cherry Cobbler

Accessories:  Decorative label punch, Modern label punch, silver glimmer paper.

26 September 2012 – More Christmas Ornaments

There are so many gorgeous Christmas ornaments at the moment just waiting to be made!!  And covered in glitter!!

I saw this first one at Stamp with Callena and thought it looked lovely but not too hard to do.  I was so excited to see the Snow Flurry die in the Holiday catalogue as snow flakes are so pretty!!  Just because we have a stinking hot summer doesn’t mean that we can’t appreciate snow flakes!!

I used my new silicone craft sheet to help make the rosettes whilst I used my hot glue gun.  You fold up the strip of scored paper and then put hot glue on one side and press it onto the craft sheet until it has cooled.  Then fold the paper into a circle, put a dob more of hot glue to join the two ends and there you have it, a lovely rosette!

I think these will definitely be a project for Stamp Club!  I think they would look lovely made with DSP as well.

Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Silver Glimmer paper

Accessories:  Simply Scored, Silicone craft sheet, Big Shot, Snow Flurry Die.

29 August 2012 – Sneak Peak 3

As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I have access to a demonstrator only forum which links all demos from around the world, Stampin Connection.  It has a great gallery of images for inspiration.  The first card that I am sharing today is by Melissa Stout, The Stamp Doc.  Check out her website here for a video on how she made this cute card.

This card is using the Festival of Prints DSP from the new Seasonal Catalogue.  This pack gives you 48 sheets of gorgeous papers that are 11.4 cm x 16.5 cm.  I think this is the first time that I have used the pennant part of the Perfect Pennants die!!

Ink:  Early Espresso

Paper:  Festival of Prints DSP, Early Espresso , Very Vanilla, Old Olive

Accessories:  Big Shot, Holiday Collection framelits, Silver Glimmer paper, rhinestones, Perfect Pennants Bigz Die, Dotted Scallop ribbon border punch, Scallop trim border punch and scallop edge border punch.

This card is from fellow Aussie demo, Ellen Woodbridge.  It uses the Papaya Collage stamp set from the New Catalogue.  You can see what I mean about needing the framelits for banners!!  Never mind, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Stamp Set:  Loving Thoughts, Papaya Collage

Ink:  Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit

Paper:  Whisper White

Accessories:  Pearls, Organza Ribbon
