It’s the last one!

It’s the last Christmas post of 2014!! Can you believe that Christmas is finished? I can’t!! The year has gone so quickly!!

So here is my last Christmas project for this year. I was asked to come to the local Girls’ Brigade and do a card and a box with the Senior girls for their break up party.

So of course, I had to use the fabulous Gift Box punch board!! I love making boxes with this board. You can whip them up so quickly!!

I also used my favourite stamp set, Mingle all the Way with the Banner Framelits.

Now, I did colour mine using Blendabilities but the girls used my markers. (I’m not that trusting!!)

Doesn’t it look cute!! They used them to do a secret santa present to each other.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and had a wonderful day celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Happy Stamping

CTC14 – Can you believe that it’s the last one?

Can you believe that we are up to the last CTC challenge for the year!!! I can’t!! I’m still in denial that we are actually in November and it’s not long until Christmas!!!!

I’ve been quite busy over the last couple of weeks, preparing for an upcoming market and doing different hours at work, so I haven’t been able to post as much. Once the market is done, I should be back on top of things again.

So for our last challenge of the year, we are doing a Colour Challenge based on the Santa & Co. Designer Washi Tape on page 29 of the AU/NZ catalogue.

It’s an interesting combination of Basic Black, Marina Mist, Old Olive and Real Red. I have to admit that they aren’t really colours that I would normally use together but I’m willing to give it a go.

So here is the inspiration from the catty.

page29

I decided to use the Seasonally Scattered stamp set, which I have admired for some time. I embossed the Merry sentiment with white embossing powder on Real Red cardstock this time but I think it would look nice in Dazzling Diamonds as well. (I didn’t want to wear glitter to work so that’s one for next time!!)

I then used the other 3 colours as the base and 2 mats. And of course, there needs to be some bling, so I did a bow with the silver ribbon and added a few snowflakes and sequins from the Frosted Sequins pack for a bit extra.

I hope you like it!!

CTC13 – Back to where it all began!!

Well, it’s finally back to where the addiction first started!! Making cards!!! For the last few weeks, I’ve been making boxes and tags (which has been fun) but now it’s time to get back into cards.

I have to say that I am in denial that we are nearing the end of October and getting closer to Christmas!! But I am making progress on my Christmas cards.

This week at Caseing the Catty Challenges, we are casing Cards from the Holiday Catalogue. I have decided to case a tag and turn it into a card. I’ve recently purchased the Mingle All the Way stamp set and haven’t had a chance to use it yet. So when I saw the tag on page 17 of the AU/NZ catalogue, I knew that was the project for me this week.

So here is the tag from the catty.
page 17

And here is my version.

I used some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to highlight the berries and add a touch of bling. I love using the Trim the Tree DSP stack as it has lots of different patterns you can use. So versatile!! And of course, I had to use my Blendies!! Love em!!

CTC12 – I love cute packaging!!!

I love the Challenge for this fortnight at Caseing the Catty. Who doesn’t like to receive a beautifully packaged gift!! And there are so many gorgeous options in the Holiday Catalogue to choose from!! So I got one of my stamping friends to pick a project for me to case.

Emma selected the Wondrous Wreath card on page 9 of the AU/NZ Holiday Catalogue but I had to do it as a box or bag.

So here is the picture from the catalogue.

hc page 9

Have you seen the Petite Café Gift Bags? They are too cute!! and they are poly-lined so you can add your treats straight in! I grabbed a bag and stamped it in versamark with the dotty stamp from the set. I then set about making the wreath. Now, do what I say not what I do!! You SHOULD cut out the middle of the wreath first before stamping as it is easier to line up the stamp to the cut edge. Did I do that? Umm.. no. I forgot about doing that until I went to cut it out. But I think it turned out ok anyway but really, it’s easier to cut first!!

So I stamped the full wreath in Pear Pizzazz and the petals in Old Olive. Photopolymer stamps make this so easy!! I then added the berries done in Real Red. So a quick run through the Big Shot and, voila, a gorgeous wreath!! I cut out the bow and then the word Joy in Gold Foil cardstock. I used the Banner framelits to cut out the banners and stuck it all together. I tied some Gold ribbon around the bag and added the banner and doesn’t it look great!! I’m really happy with how it turned out. Now to find a present to fit the bag!!

Swapping with my Team

One of the great parts of being part of a team of demonstrators is the opportunity to do swaps. We try to do them monthly but sometimes life gets in the way and we do them less frequently. But in celebration of the Holiday Catalogue coming out, we recently did a holiday catty swap.

I love getting happy mail (so much better than bills!!) so I always enjoy being a part of swaps. It’s also interesting to see what others are making and sharing ideas.

So I wanted to use the White Christmas stamp set as it is very cute. I was inspired by Yvonne Jackson, here. I think the little bear is my favourite stamp in this set!! And did you notice the snowflakes!! LOVE!!! And of course, a swap wouldn’t be complete without using Blendies!!!

I always forget that whilst I love receiving swaps, making lots of the same card is not quite as fun!

I hope the girls liked my swap!!

What a pretty bauble

I don’t know about you but I love a pretty, colourful, sparkly bauble on my Christmas tree.  And if I could somehow make this stamped bauble into a real one, it would be on my tree in a flash!!  I’m speaking of the Christmas Bauble stamp from the Holiday catalogue, of course!!

I knew as soon as I saw this stamp that I needed to have it!!  It’s also great for colouring with Blendabilties (fancy that!!)

I found this great sketch at Mojo Monday and thought it would suit.

zzMojo359Sketch

I used the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack as my inspiration for the colours.  I used Whisper White as the base cardstock and Garden Green as the next layer.  I used a piece of Gold Satin ribbon as a touch of luxury.  Then I got stuck into colouring with my blendies!!  Love, love!!!

To create the sentiment, I stamped the image from the Good Greetings stamp set and used the Modern label punch to punch it out.  To mat it, I used the Decorative label punch and cut it in half.

If you like the greeting stamp, you can earn this set for free by hosting a qualifying workshop up to 31 October.  Contact me at stampinwithrebecca@yahoo.com.au to arrange a date.

Happy Stamping!!

Artistic Expression

I have to say that I am really enjoying being a part of the Caseing the Catty design team. It’s made me look closely at the catalogue and really use it as a great resource for workshops and classes.

This week’s challenge is from the Artistic Expression section of the catalogue. There are so many awesome projects to choose from! You may know (if you follow my blog) that I really like using Blendabilities. So as soon as I saw the box on page 171 of the AU/NZ catalogue, I knew what I was making this week!!

page 171

However…. I didn’t have any boxes 😦 But wait, I just got the Gift Box Punch board from the Holiday Catalogue!! You can create lots of different sized boxes using this fabulous board!! And so quick and easy!!

I used Baked Brown Sugar cardstock for the base and then made a whisper white strip as a belly band. I stamped it with the sequin stamp from the Hello Darling stamp set (sequin stamp, squeal!!) in Gold ink and then added the flower which is also from the same stamp set.

I used nearly all of my Blendies colouring in the flowers!! I then added the luxurious Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta ribbon from the Holiday Catalogue and of course, there needs to be real sequins as well! I used the For you stamp from the Hello There hostess and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ circle punch.
