12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 12

12 weeks w12

Well, we’ve finally made it to Week 12 and it’s Christmas this week!! I hope you are all prepared. I have a couple of last minute presents to get and a bit of food shopping as well. I’m thinking of making a pavlova for Christmas day but I’ve never made one so we will see what happens!!

For my final card in the series, I have used the Happy Scenes Stamp set and the matching Hearth & Home Thinlits. I’m so glad that these thinlits have carried through to the new Occasions catalogue. And there’s a really cute stamp set to go with it too.

For my card today, I was inspired by the Home for Christmas DSP and I used the colours in the DSP for the base of the card and the layers.

I stamped the image in Mossy Meadow and added the snow in Pool Party. I also cut out the window box and added three little flowers and a rhinestone in the centre.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

When I saw this bundle, I was so excited!! Aren’t these edgelits gorgeous!!

I was inspired for this week’s card by Paula Dobson, with her entry for Global Design Project #GDP004. I just love the layers of the edgelits on the circle.

I also wanted to use the black glimmer paper which is so pretty, so I used it as the base of my circle. Of course the trees must be green so I decided to use Wild Wasabi and to make it the base of the card. Of course the sleigh must be on silver glimmer paper, so I not only cut the sleigh and horse on silver glimmer paper but I added a layer of silver glimmer paper. So my card is soooo sparkly!! Love! I even did a double layer of whisper white! Doesn’t it look lovely!

This time, I am focusing on the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and the co-ordinating Delicate Ornaments thinlit dies.

These are so pretty!! I decided to focus on the thinlits for my card. I cut out the larger bauble from the Red Foil paper and the smaller ornament from gold glimmer paper. So sparkly!!! A little bit of gold cord and a bow and it’s done!!

It was so easy to cut out the ornaments on my big shot using the new precision plate. The paper just popped out of the die.  The photo doesn’t do this card justice, as it is very sparkly in real life.

Well sometimes the best laid plans go astray!! So now, I’m back on track again.

This week I am focusing on the Peaceful Wreath stamp set. I was so excited to see this set in the catalogue so I could utilize one of my favourite dies, Wondrous Wreath.

But for today, I decided to use one of the other stamps in the set. Yes, there is more than just a cute wreath!!

At this time of year, it’s helpful to have little gift bags or boxes on hand in case of emergency gifts. The square pillow box die is great for this! It’s retiring at the end of the Holiday Catalogue, so make sure you grab it now!!

I cut out 2 pillows and then ran them through the big shot with the Woodlands Embossing folder. A quick couple of folds and a strip of fast fuse and the box is done!

I then stamped the branch with Mossy Meadow ink and hand cut it out. I then coloured the holly leaves with my blender pens and added some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on the holly berries. And then left it to dry so there were no accidents.

To create the sentiment, I carefully placed the stamps individually on the block (about 3 times before I got a nice placement) then stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with the Lots of Labels framelits. A piece of burlap around the pillow box and some gold cord behind the sentiment to add some texture.
