Welcome to another fun week of Caseing the Catty!! I’ve had a few weeks off blogging due to my shift work but I’m excited to back for this week! I love all the types of embossing.
So our challenge this week is to case an embossing project from either catalogue.
I decided to case a project from the January-June Mini Catalogue from page 22.
As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m planning a trip to Japan in March next year, so I’ve been excited by the whole Symbols of Fortune suite. Although I haven’t used it enough so it won’t be leaving my stash any time soon!! If you decide you need it too, it is retiring at the end of July and it is on sale now so grab yours before it sells out.
I’m really enjoying the slimline cards so when I noticed that this card had an embossed piece on it, I had to case it. I didn’t really re-invent the wheel when casing this card. I changed the background piece to a piece of the Symbols of Fortune DSP. I then embossed a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock using the retired Wrapped in Texture embossing folder. Embossing always gives me a little thrill!!
I then cut out a couple of pieces of cardstock using the retired Stitched So Sweetly dies and stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral ink from the Crane of Fortune stamp set.
I cut out the floral piece in Evening Evergreen and layered it with a piece of Soft Succulent satin ribbon behind the sentiment. I then had to add some of the polished dots (which are one of my current favourites!!) like the sample card.
I’m so happy with how this card turned out!! The ribbon just seems to make it so luxurious!! Let me know what you think.
Next up is the lovely Rachel.
We would love to see your creation, so please share on over at our Facebook group.
