Can you believe that it is Easter next weekend? Surely it’s not!! Although I think the hot cross buns were in the shops on Boxing Day!! I am also excited that it is exactly 1 year until my next overseas adventure!! I am planning a trip to Japan and Alaska with a friend and I can’t wait. Fingers crossed it all goes ahead.
We are casing Easter projects this week from either the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue or the January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue.
I went with the challenge image this week which is from page 27 of the January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue. I combined a couple of these cards together, although I didn’t actually make a card.
A couple of weeks ago, I found a glass fronted money box at a local cheap shop. I scratched off the picture on it and thought it would make a good display box for a 3d project. Then when this challenge came around, I knew it would be perfect for it! I’m wanting to decorate a bit more for Easter so this project is the perfect start for my decorating.
I found some of the Flowering Fields DSP and then decided to add a bit of texture by tearing it. I also found I had some supple shimmer specialty paper and knew it was just right for the background. I then cut out the banner of tulips and coloured them in using a variety of Stampin’ Blends. Of course my picture wouldn’t be complete with out a bunny and a few baby chicks from the Easter Friends stamp set. I stamped in Crumb Cake and coloured the bunny with Crumb Cake blends and the chicks with So Saffron blends.
I used the same Flowering Fields DSP for the sentiment which I cut out using the retiring Stitched So Sweetly dies. The sentiment is from the Easter Friends stamp set as well.
Of course I had to add some Easter eggs into the bottom of the box to finish it off. What do you think?
Too cute, isn’t it!! What I also love, is that I can change out the picture depending on the season.
Next up is the lovely Sandra.
We would love to see your Easter creations, so please share over on at our Facebook group.
