Casing Animals

Welcome to a fun week at Casing the Catty. This week, we are casing animal themed cards from either catalogue.

It’s quite surprising how many animal cards there are! I decided to case the circle card on page 63 of the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue.

I had a piece of shimmer white cardstock on my desk, so I used that and embossing it using the wintry 3d embossing folder. I don’t have the Picture This dies which have the circles so I just used my layering circle dies and cut out random circles. I just love the Sweet Stockings DSP and the cute dogs and cats on it! So I did some fussy cutting and cut out a few of them. This is a great way to use some of the images at the side of the paper that are not the full image. Nothing wasted here!! I then played around with where to put them and stamped the sentiment of a piece of Old Olive cardstock.

I had to include the black kitty and as I typed this post, my handsome boy Shadow, came and sat directly in front of my screen and asked if he could sit on my chair. Lucky for him, I’ve got 2 chairs in my craft for this reason (only becomes a problem when both kitties want to sit on a chair!!) You can guess who ends up without a seat!! (Yes, it’s me!! I know, I’m a softie!!)

Next up is my travel friend, Tina. It was 3 years ago that we were holidaying in Orlando to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Stampin’ Up! I’m loving seeing all our adventures coming up in my Facebook memories.

We would love to see your creations over on at our Facebook group.

Happy Stamping

  1. Orlando seems like a lifetime ago!! It’s been great seeing the memories pop up on FB again.

Your card is so cute! Great tip about using the animals on the edge of the DSP – I will have to give your idea a go.

  2. Great minds think alike, Rebecca! The Sweet Stockings critters are perfect for this layout and you can choose the number of circles when die cutting yourself.
