Welcome to another fun week at Casing the Catty!! I’ve had a crafty week this week. I’ve been lucky enough to get 5 days off work and whilst I did have a day of 1000 jobs, I’ve also managed lots of crafting! I had a lovely day yesterday with my mum making a felt Christmas wreath, card making today and off to the Embroidery Guild tomorrow!
We are casing our favourite mini catalogue project this week. Now there are many great projects in the mini catalogue but one of my favourite bundles is the Merriest Moments bundle. I love that you not only get a gorgeous stamp set and matching dies but you also get a stunning embossing folder.
So I’ve decided to case the card at the top of page 43 of the catalogue.
I embossed a piece of Shimmer White cardstock using the Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder and then cut it out using the Merriest Frames dies. I then used a blending brush and gently sponged the greenery using Old Olive, Shaded Spruce and Evening Evergreen. I used a Poppy Parade blend to colour the holly.
I then stamped the background using the fern like stamp and stamped off in Old Olive for a softer background. I then stamped in Poppy Parade (stamping off again), 2 each of the flowers and die cut them out. The sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen and die cut using the dies. I also used Wink of Stella on the flowers for a bit more bling.
It looks quite bright here but is a bit softer in real life.
Next up is the amazing Sandra.
We would love to see your creation, so please share over on at our Facebook group.
Happy Stamping
Stampin’ Up! Product List
I hope you’ve had a lovely time off from work – it sounds like you’ve been busy! Your card is fantastic – the poinsettias really pop out of all the greens.
Thanks 😊
WOW – this looks amazing. Love the softness of the colouring and the watery effect too! Such a glorious card.
Thank you 😊
The blending brushes work well on the embossed frame. Great version of the original card.
Thank you 😊
