Welcome to a soggy weekend here in Queensland! I hope you are enjoying the rain and aren’t getting flooded! We go from one extreme weather situation to another in Australia.
After a false start this morning, here is this week’s challenge!! (I accidently scheduled my post for am instead of pm!!) Luckily I hadn’t actually written the post yet, so you didn’t get a sneak peak of my card! We are continuing on with week 2 of Caseing the sketch from page 34.
Here’s the sketch.
This is such a versatile sketch! This week, I have turned it on it’s side. I have just purchased the Botancial Prints Product medley. Have you checked out these medley’s? They include so many products that co-ordinate (did we expect anything else!). There’s the Botanical Prints stamp set, 6″x6″ dsp stack, 4 sheets of die cut accents, 4 sheets of laser cut overlays, Old Olive twill ribbon, copper bee embellishments and the Botanical Prints dies. You can pick up the medley at my online store, here. And don’t forget, you can select a free Sale-a-bration product as well.
As soon as I saw one of the laser cut overlays, I knew that was going to be the start of my card. I trimmed it into three pieces and glued them to a piece of whisper white. I did cut off a half square so it was a bit shorter than the final card but I thought it would make a great place for the sentiment.
I layered the whisper white background onto a piece of Pretty Peacock and the main card base is Calypso Coral. The sentiment is from the Botanical Prints stamp set and I’ve stamped it in Pretty Peacock.
I stamped the flowers in Memento Black, cut out with the Botanical Prints dies and coloured using the Pretty Peacock and Calypso Coral light blends.
My bow is the Petal Pink Metallic edge ribbon. I like the touch of bling it adds to the card.
I can’t wait to play with this medley even more!! The DSP is just lovely and perfect for colouring as well.
Next up, we are off over the ditch to visit Sandra. I wonder what gorgeousness she has created this week.
We would love to see your creation over at our Facebook group. We’ve already had a few great entries but we would love to see yours!
