Welcome to another exciting week at Caseing the Catty. We are casing the Gingham Gala section, pages 34-37 of the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.

I received the Humming Along stamp set at Onstage in Orlando and I’m afraid to say that I hadn’t used it until this week. The hibiscus flower is just so pretty that I had to case the card on page 36. I also wanted to try the fringing on the card as well.

I did a google search for hibiscus flowers to find an accurate colour combo. I found this one so I went with Lovely Lipstick, Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody.

I coloured my flower using blends and added Granny Apple Green. I used the Hummingbird Framelits to cut out the flower and the sentiment. I did a Stitched Rectangle using the Botanical Butterfly DSP for the background of the flower.
To create the fringing, I put tape on the back of the rectangle and cut two long pieces of Flax ribbon and lots of small pieces to go across the top and bottom. I then used my Take your pick tool and fluffed out the ribbon.
On the background, I embossed a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock with the Subtles embossing folder for a little bit of texture.

I hope you enjoyed my card tonight. Next up is the lovely Sandra.
We would love to see your creations over on at our Facebook Group.
Happy Stamping

I love the hibiscus Bec and the fringing behind it looks fabulous.
Thanks!
Wow Bec, the hibiscus looks amazing and I love the fringing with the ribbon, very effective
Thanks 😊
So cute! Love the way you’ve used the ribbon as a border. Kelly x
Thank you 😊
The fringing looks great Bec, but I love the hibiscus over the top of the Green DSP, just lifts it.
Thank you 😊
Oooh, the fringing looks great, and good idea to cheat on the shorter lengths – that’s something I’d do too! Your hibiscus looks fantastic.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful card Rebecca! The hibiscus looks so bright and vibrant

Love your card Bec, especially the fringing, and the colour of the hibiscus. I must give this stamp set some ink too.
