CTC213 – Floral Romance

CTC-header

Isn’t it great to have a long weekend!! I hope you had a great Australia Day! I did, it’s my b’day!! Although it’s been a hot week/weekend and it’s a bit hard to be inspired when it’s so hot in the craft room.

This week we are casing the Floral Romance section, pages 10-13 of the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.

I would have liked to have used the Wonderful Romance bundle, but I was silly and only ordered the framelits (must have put in the wrong code!). So I decided to use the Butterfly Beauty thinlits instead. At CTC Crew, we are challenging ourselves to case something other than a layout from the catalogue. So I decided to be inspired by the colours featured in the butterfly card on the lower right on page 13.

So I went with Whisper White, Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green. Although on closer inspection, I think it might have been Melon Mambo! Oh well, you get the idea!

I started off with a piece of thick whisper white cardstock and spritzed it all over with water. I then put some Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green ink onto a couple of clear blocks and used my aqua painter to get the ink onto the cardstock. And even though it’s really hot, I still used my heat tool to dry the paper. I then cut out one of the large butterfly framelits and sponged the back with tombow glue and attached to a piece of whisper white.

I stamped the sentiment from the Forever Lovely stamp set in Granny Apple Green and cut out using the Wonderful Floral framelits. I added some Poppy Parade Textured Weave Ribbon behind the sentiment and attached it using some dimensionals.

I do love these butterflies!!

  1. I love the sponged multicoloured die cut butterflies. This is such a clever idea and do so pretty! Amazing fresh colours and card.
