I can’t believe that we are up to our 10th Colour Challenge already!! Where is this year going?
Congratulations for our winners for Challenge 9. We had lots of gorgeous entries. You can join in with our fortnightly challenge by joining us at the Facebook group and sharing your entry with the group.
This week’s challenge is another hard one!! We have Cajun Craze, Smoky Slate, Delightful Dijon and Island Indigo.
When I start a colour challenge, I always get out all of the colours in the cardstock and lay them together. Then I start playing with what might look good as a base. Then I look at my stamp sets and see what takes my fancy. I love the new Happy Birthday thinlits so I decided to go with that and the matching stamp set, Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I cut out a Happy birthday with the thinlits in Delightful Dijon and did a second one in Island Indigo and glued them together with a little overlap.
My first layout didn’t look right, so as I re-arranged, I laid the thinlit cutout on top of an Island Indigo base and inspiration struck!! The stamp set includes balloons which match the Balloon Bouquet punch so I stamped a couple in Smoky Slate and Cajun Craze. I then pulled apart a piece of baker’s twine and and tied it to the top of the H. I think it looks kinda cute!!
Now whilst these colours are quite a challenge, I dare you to give them a try!! Sometimes it’s great to try something that you wouldn’t usually do. You might be surprised!!
Next up is my lovely friend, Mel.
