CTC73 – Botanical Gardens

ctc_header

Welcome to this week’s Caseing the Catty blog hop.  We are casing the Botantical Gardens section of the Occasions catalogue from pages 26-29.

I thought I would try a different colour combination for my card.  I’m casing the thanks card on page 26.  Did you know that you can use this stamp set to create your own dsp?

So I stamped away with Watermelon Wonder, So Saffron, Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride and created my own background.  I created my own washi tape by using one of the stamps in the set and adding it to the edges of the circle.  I have recently discovered the Suite Sayings stamp set and I decided to use one of the sentiments stamps as I have a special friend in mind for this card.

I also love a good set of splodge stamps as well, although I don’t use them as often as I should!!  The Timeless Texture stamp set has fabulous splodges in it!!  For this card, I am casing the gift bag on page 29.

For this one, I pretty much only changed the colours and went with Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Watermelon Wonder.  I have to say I have so much trouble making my twine look like random swirls!!  It’s harder than it looks!!

I hope you have enjoyed my cards this week and it inspires you to join in with Caseing the Catty this month.  As always, we have a monthly challenge that you can join in and show us what you have cased from the catalogue.  Click here to go to the linky.

  1. Wow, great job on designing your own DSP with the Botanicals set. Love it! I like “slodgy” types of stamps too, for their versatility and what they add to the backgrounds. The Timeless Textures hasn’t been added to my stash yet, but is on the top of the list, especially after seeing projects like yours. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Great cards Rebecca, lovely colour ombination in your DSP. You have done a great job making it. I never quite get the overall effect but you have mastered it here. great choice to do the Timless Textures too!
