I love joining in with Challenge blogs and this week at TGIF, they have set a technique challenge!! Watercolouring!!!
So, I have decided to find my inner “arty”. Apparently, she wasn’t hiding that far away!! I used the retired colour coach to come up with a nice combo of subtle colours, Soft Sky, Wisteria Wonder and Sahara Sand. I think they look very pretty together.
I then had a look at my stamps. I decided to use the large splat from the Perpetual birthday calendar set. I stamped it in the 3 colours on the watercolour paper and gave it a spritz of water to make the colours blend together. And because I’m impatient, I used my heat tool to make it dry quicker.
I knew I wanted to add a gold embossed sentiment and I couldn’t decide what would go. My fabulous friend, Emma, suggested that I use the flower from You’ve Got This, and I have to agree, that it looks pretty good!! I added some lace, a bow and stamped a small sentiment from Petite Pairs and punched it out with the oval punch.
When I came to photo the card, I realised that it’s hard to get a good picture of embossing. Let me just say in real life, it looks much better!!
I hope you like my card!! Please leave me a comment and let me know.
Happy Stamping
