I’m so excited to be back sharing our projects at Caseing the Catty!!
And what great new catalogues that we have to share!! If you haven’t received a copy of the new Occasions catalogue or the Sale-a-bration one, please let me know and I’ll send one out to you.
Our first challenge of the year is to be inspired by a stamped project from the SAB Catalogue and use a SAB stamp set.
As you may know, I kinda like to use my blendabilities!! I received the A Happy Thing stamp set featuring a cute bird, during the pre-order period for demos. It’s not a set I would normally choose but I knew it would be good for using my blendies with. Did you know you can also earn blendabilities for free? Just by ordering $90 worth of product, you can choose a set for free!! I might be getting a few more sets before the end of SAB!! hehe
So I was inspired by the cute card on page 18 of the AU/NZ Sale-a-bration catalogue.
I decided to do a normal size card rather than the square, just for something different. I also didn’t do the splats as I didn’t want to make a mess!! I used the Deco Labels framelits as I love this shape and I forget to use it. So I coloured my birdie using the new Bermuda Bay blendies and Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler. I also used one of the brown’s in the skin colour set for the branch.
You may notice the border around the cut out shape. I used the lightest daffodil delight blendie to colour the edge left by the framelit. I think it adds a nice subtle look. Like the sample in the catalogue, I used the Love Life stamp to create the background on the card. To make the banner, I just stamped the image using Baked Brown Sugar ink and cut it out using my trimmer and paper snips. I then put a strip of new Bermuda bay sequins underneath!! These are soooo pretty!! You NEEEEEDDD some!!
I hope you like it!!
So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au
You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.
Guidelines
