I’ve been a bit quiet blogging for the last couple of weeks but I do have a good reason!! My husband and I have been re-decorating my craft room!! Happy Dance time!!
I’m really happy with the way it’s turned out. I painted my first wall ever!! I wanted a feature wall so of course I had to choose an SU! colour. I went with Rose Red and it looks great!!
So coming into the room, the first thing you see is a cute ladder that I found at Freedom furniture. I thought it would be perfect as a display stand and it certainly is. You can also see that I use the cupboard doors as a notice board for all my current swaps. Great for inspiration!!
Then there is my new desk with an Ikea 5 drawer unit. I actually have so many drawers now, that I don’t know what to put in them all!! I bet that doesn’t last long!
I have my paper storage for DSP tucked into the corner and then my computer zone with the washi tape and ink pads on the right hand side. I didn’t want the ink pads too close to the window as I don’t want them to dry out in the sun which hits my room in the morning.
Then there is my awesome punch storage unit and then the big shot zone!! I presently have all my embossing folders in the box in the corner.
Below the desk I have my filing cabinet and then a 3 drawer Ikea unit, which holds my Big Shot dies. The unit in the centre (also from Ikea) has my Whale punches in the top drawer and then there are 3 shelves in the cupboard which hold my envelopes, extra paper trimmer, embossing gun and a few other bits of equipment.
Above the desk, I have a shelf which goes the whole way across. I wanted this to hold all my stamps and framelits. I actually thought I would fill it with just stamp sets but they only went half way!! I’ve put them into alphabetical order to make them easier to find. I also got 4 battery operated down lights to help reading that little writing on the stamp sets at night time!! (I really think that writing has got smaller, it’s not that my eye sight is getting worse!!)
Above the shelf are the cupboards that we built. We bought the doors from Ikea and then made the cabinets ourselves. Fortunately, the building process went well and there were no arguments!!
I have always wanted an Ikea Expedit unit and never had the space or a place to put one that matched my decorating. When we decided to do my room, I decided that it was time to get rid of the bookcase I was using and get an Expedit! I love it!! I’m using it for all my cardstock storage. I have one colour per drawer. The bottom shelf holds my extra catalogues, my box of cards, and my scrapbook albums. I also use the top as an extra display area.
I hope you enjoyed my tour of my craft room!
