It’s time to CASE!!

This week’s challenge at CASEing The Catty is the Birthday section of the catalogue. Now you would think this was a easy one to do, but I actually had a bit of trouble choosing a project!!

I eventually decided on the card on page 52 of the AU/NZ catalogue.

I don’t have the stamp set that they used so I decided to go with Sketched Birthday. I also used my colour coach to come up with a new colour combo, Crushed Curry, Pool Party and Basic Gray.

I really love the look of the polaroid photo by placing a square onto a rectangle. I might have to use this idea more often!!

I got out my trusty markers to colour the stamps in. I just love this technique. Here’s a tip I discovered whilst doing a practice stamp before committing to the colours. Make sure your Stampin Scrub is clean!!!! When I cleaned my stamp, and recoloured, the Pool Party was definitely not the right colour. So I used my second scrub which had recently had a bath, and voila, much better!!! I gave my scrub a wash in the laundry tub and you should have seen the red ink come out!! Note to self, wash out scrubs more often!!!

I love that one stamp set can give me all the stamps I need to get a card done.

So make sure you join in with the Challenge at http://www.caseingthecatty.blogspot.com.au

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. It doesn’t even have to be about scrapbooking, journaling or Project Life. For example, you can use a sketch idea for a card or 3D item.

Guidelines

* Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
* Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
* Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country’s catalogue where you got your inspiration.
* SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

Hope you can join it!!

Happy Stamping

  1. I love this sketch too and how you have made this CASE your ‘own’ with the different colours and stamp sets.
